If you need help in getting the correct(or close to correct as possible) railroad colors, here is the Internet link from the Model Railroad Hobbyist forum that will guide you to download the railroad color chart: https://mrhmag.com/subscribers-only/painting/acrylics Wendell Idaho, USA -

Here's a picture of a Union Pacific Railroad train in Austin, Texas. The train is traversing the median of the Mopac Expressway(State Highway Loop 1). The Mopac Expressway is named after the former Missouri Pacific Railroad(aka "The MoPac"). The railroad track was formerly owned by the Missouri Pacific. https://www.railpictures.net/photo/819376/ Wendell Idaho, USA

Here's another picture of a train in Chicago. This time, it is a Metra commuter train being led by a Union Pacific switcher. The train is going over the John F. Kennedy Expressway(Interstates 90 and 94). https://www.railpictures.net/photo/848345/ Wendell Idaho, USA

You are welcome, Keith. I thought that since some of you Brits read Model Railroader magazine on the other side of the Atlantic, it would be good to share this information. I had learned this news via the Model Railroad Hobbyist forum. Wendell Idaho, USA -
I had just learned about this a few hours ago. Jim Hediger, a longtime senior editor for Model Railroader magazine, passed away on February 9, 2024 at the age of 81. He was part of the Model Railroader staff for 43 years. Hediger wrote more than 750 stories, columns, and reviews for MR and built a nice double deck layout called the Ohio Southern. https://www.trains.com/mrr/news-reviews/news/in-memoriam-jim-hediger/ https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/james-hediger-obituary?id=54339022 Wendell Idaho, USA

Street Running in the USA or Canada

Another reason why the Union Pacific Railroad added the "Y" to their reporting mark for yard switchers is because the UP was running out of 3-digit and 4-digit numbers in the aftermath of their purchase of the Chicago & North Western Transportation Company and Southern Pacific Railroad. Here's a brand new picture of a Union Pacific Railroad train in Rockford, Illinois. The train is running down Madison Street. Rockford is about 90 miles(144 kilometers) west-northwest of Chicago via the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway(Interstate 90 or I-90). https://www.railpictures.net/photo/849909/ Wendell Idaho, USA -
Here's a beautiful picture of a Union Pacific Railroad train in suburban Wondervu, Colorado. The eastbound train is moving through some snowy canyons en route to Denver on former Denver and Rio Grande Western(later Southern Pacific) trackage. Merry Christmas to all of you! https://www.railpictures.net/photo/776709/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wondervu,_Colorado Wendell Parks Idaho, USA

I had just looked at many of your pictures of the North American locomotives and rolling stock. You are doing a great job with the weathering. Keep up the good work! Wendell Idaho, USA -
