  1. Just a heads up, I’ve spoken to Colin this evening and the MLI magazine is not to finish publication from Issue 246 as stated on another topic. The note on the website re not taking any more subscribers was due to the fact that the magazine was being transferred to another publisher but this is not happening now and the product is staying with Key Publishing.

    regards

  2. Has anyone noticed the bend in the chassis? I've just got a green small yellow panelled model and the chassis on both sides looks out of true :( I already swapped it with the one they picked out as when looking closely there were glue smears around the hand rail holes and what looked like paint overspray that had half heartily been cleaned off, what I'd deem a ' Friday afternoon' job, I just missed that the chassis looks out of true

  3. Doesn't having two platforms at BA also have the added problem of needing a new footbridge (disability act etc) as barrow crossings are a no no now?. With the two trains and no signalling, what about a catch point on the Gunnislake branch before the junction that can only be released when the token off the Tavistock train has arrived at BA therefore that train is stopped in the platform and the Gunnislake train is running under caution into the platform to join up?, or another idea, the token section is still St Bx- Gunnislake and the catch point is on the Tavistock branch coming into BA with the second token BA-TK.

The reason I thought of the first idea is if the TK over runs it would 'harmlessly' back down to Ply, and If the Gunnislake does so, its in the dirt (or over run in the former Up platform area) and cannot contact the TK train.

  4. Good evening everyone,

Progress has been slow on Par recently but this week has been a bit of a turn around and some good progress has been made.

The Peco code 55 track has been lifted (if anyone needs any Peco track, please PM me) and a card trackbed has been laid and a start on the easitrac.

The easitrac has been started, and what a difference it makes. there are two types of track in this location on the prototype. Bullhead rail and flat bottom rail, both of which are represented accurately on the model.

My first turnout designed using Templot. Thought I would go easy on myself and start with a Y turnout!!

Next up, I have made a start on the Network rail building. Having had issues with the signal box being a bit flimsey, I decided to build this building using 1.5mm thick plastic sheet so as to get a sturdy structure, using the usual corner reinforcers.

A shot of the real thing.

Window frames have been put in over the course of the last few days, pictures to follow in the next post.

The signal box has had it's floor installed and the window frames are almost done.

Just waiting on some more easitrac to come through from the 2FS shop so that I can finish the track on this board and post a further update.

That's all for now, as always, any comments and tips are most welcome.

    Best regards,

    Jeremy

Hi, nice layout :), with the NR building, I would ask Craig when that was built as I'm not sure it existed in the 1980's.

  5. GBRf ran its first train of 2013 on the branch today with 66711 at the helm of 6C55 Cardiff to Exeter via Newton Abbot and the 6B56 return Exeter to Cardiff. The picture shows the shunting before departure taken from the B and Q car park (which the former trackbed to the old good yard (the B and Q site) can be seen used as the road/track :) Tony
