I bought an E6031 from the Kernow sale a few days ago. To be honest I had misgivings about the model based on previous form although I'd long wanted a 73. However, having had it out on test I am very pleased. It runs like a dream with none of the issues that had been reported on earlier releases.
Might be of interese re our Dapol Sale now on:

These sound are total rubbish, no decent acceleration curves in the project and just very amaturish.

The Legomanbiffo one is far better and programmed to work the model. So as you are a good customer, send it too us for a 'FREE' reblow to a better sound. Please pop in a £5.00 please to cover the postage.
I have lost count of how many we have reblown and supplied for these models. Charlie

I wanted a refund for my 37 because reducing the volume to allow the loco to run was not satisfactory in my eyes.
However, they would not accept that I could have a refund so it went back to them. Two weeks later and its back and cured. However, the quality of sound is not upto scratch. I'm beginning to think this is a sound file by ESU. Good sound on start up and pulling away. Tickover is barely audible thought. Its going to be sold and will be the first and last AS loco I own.
Dave.

Does your model have the poor 3 Contacts on the chassis, connecting too the 3 bronze plungers in the cab light unit.
As these are probable dirty or not toughing properly.
I could not got a demo one working the other month, so i hard wired them.

I don’t personally know how good it is but Coastal DCC do a class 15 sound and a version specifically tailored to the LLC model according to their website. Only on ESU though if that matters to you.

I've just bought a DCC ready version and understand there are issues with the lighting when using other decoders. I've fitted mine with the Hattons decoder that came with their 66. At present I have headlight and marker lights working but no tail lights, fans or cab lights. Given the extra lighting functions the Hattons 66 had am I likely to be able to get the remaining functions working and if so could anyone offer any advice on how to go about setting it up?
Unless you re-map the functions then NO. Are you talking about a Non Sound decoder here ???

Largest Scottish 0 Gauge Layout 'EVER' at Model Rail Scotland this year.
O' We've gone BIG!!!
For those who have seen the hall plan for this years show you may notice a rather large space in the middle of the hall... well it's not a space its actually the largest layout we have ever had exhibited at Model Rail Scotland.
Eastfield by Mick Worrall is an O gauge layout which depicts Eastfield Depot in Glasgow. It's going to be a very popular layout and you'll be able to view from all angles.
Domt miss this !!!
Show opens 23rd to 25th Feb 2024

Yes two will fit, very loud here on my desk, but at Noisy model shows its probably just right. All right stuff at home is always too quiet at shows.

If it was a ESU Decoder its possible to get Welsh Destinaton announcement and better sound put onto the decoder, Charlie-Legomanbiffo.

In Parallel should be louder, IE 2 X 8Ohms = 4 Ohms.
Thats what I did in a Bachmann DMU last week, yesterday I did a Cavalex 56 with 2 EM'0' speakers at 4 Ohms wired in series and WOW. What a noise.

This is the first time I have heard ESU decoders being described as 'inferior', the LokPilot Non sound decoder if very good, operates all the featires and is around £15.00 cheaper it would appear!!, did'nt realise Zimo decoders were so expensive. A Legomanbiffo sound decoder is only another £70.00!!!
