  1. top job i had been on the other site and seen some postings there too got to say again well done !!! TOP JOB!
  2. top class job as always looking like you have packed a lot of detail into it! can't wait to see it in primer! then in BR Blue! keep up the great work.
  3. it will look rather cool in corporate blue me thinks i have an 8f like yours sitting around waiting for an upgrade you may have tempted me to doing it blue instead of black although i quite fancy a turkish 8f so will have too see, again i think your plans are very interesting. i will update my blog at some point with new pics on the 8f but will be off line for the next 2 days while i have the new high speed internet installed! anyway looking forward to seeing more!
  4. classic stuff! was waiting for you to post this ! as i had seen the artwork before! looking forward to seeing this one done.
  5. Hi jon, just wanted to say your bus build is looking rather smart! you are doing a top job. are these kits still around if so have you got any contact details & price for them? im looking forward to seeing more on this build. cheers ian
  6. dear weathering man, i did not mean to upset you or say that you do not make any models its just the GBL models are a decent price point for fiddling around with much like you surgested in your reveiw there just seems to be alot of people expecting a Bachmann or Hornby top end product for very little money, maybe its just me maybe im the funny one wantting to make something from nothing. and as for how many you have & what you do with them is UP to you & good luck with them im sure you will make something with them! and above all have some fun! if you enjoy painting & modelling them then thats what its about. hope you understand now what i was trying to say!
  7. so how many has the weathering man pruchased for mucking up then??? please remember the title of the hobby/industry RAILWAY MODELLING so be creative & make something! yes before anyone says i have not posted any GBL conversions yet as we have a big pile waitting of a4s and others but my dad has already got the duchess running using an old tender drive loco we had spare so a cheap loco was made up and it looks ok running with coaches behinde it on the layout! if you want to see some gems go check out steffans stuff the GWR items he`s made recently using GBL & others has set me off too but must get back to finishing my Southern Q class from golden arrow! see my blog on rmweb for pics. anyway happy modelling!
  8. just a quick update photo now have chimney! thanks to a GBL model! and also have a set of buffers(thanks to brown.sauce/flee bay) so thought id do a quick update on the "Q" before anyone jumps in & comments! this is being made up as is from what bits i can get hold of and from my own stash because as we know model shops have not been interested in selling bits or scale items for years so its a case of use what i can to make it look as near as possible to make a cost effective model. so take heed people before you post a comment it is after all railway modelling not cheque book modelling.
  9. yes its a Hornby 9f rebuilt to crosti using some bits from an older Hornby 9f with a railroad body & tender top with fittings from some of my own scratch built items & crownline detailing parts as well as some resin pipe work left over from other crosti kits i have built from golden arrow! all stuck on painted up & weathered i do not have time to do blow by blow accounts any more due to work & other building projects so just on the odd chance post a photo & short blog entry. hope thats helped.
  10. yes thats what i thought this was a creative crosti 9f rebuild! but as i said it did the job!
  11. a slightly modified Hornby 9f to a rebuilt crosti some of my own bits with crownline stuff & golden arrow resin bits! but it did the job
  12. new loco in build waitting for final bits before painting! LMS flatiron OO/4mm
  13. hi jim its currently sitting on a Hornby/Dapol/airfix 4f ! thats what the kit is set up for but you could easily fit in a scale chassis as long as its a small motor! as there is very little room inside the body moulding. so at present it will stay tender drive for ease of use on our layout, but im thinking of doing a couple more so we shal see. cheers .
  14. when i can find a suitable one its up for a change! only saying that because its slightly miss formed, but i knew this when chris sent it to me!
