Not eBay per se but one of those house clearance outlets with random items over in Hull. Over forty proper Humbrol tinlets before they got spoiled by safety regulations in useful subdued hues all unopened. Make the sloshy sound of nice undried contents when shaken. I actually found another identical one of the range rovers in a different rummage bin at the same junk market a few weeks later. This one had a makers date of 1996. Sadly the Marzal and Range Rover number one, along with other cars and three Hornby car carriers were lost in the post so gone forever.

I reported them for abuse. I have blocked them. The refund hasn’t gone through yet. I suspect eBay will still side with them in all aspects from sad experience…

Somebody bought something a couple of weeks ago. Their address looked a little poorly formatted so I searched it and corrected it. The item didn’t arrive so I explained that I would refund but they may wish to correct it. if anybody wants the username of this delightful gentleman I can provide it so you can block them.

Hi all. Started following the lead of others and rummaging the charity shop and junk boxes for interesting 00 gauge finds. A crude Range Rover mark 1 in about 1/80 and a copy of the matchbox lamborghini Marzal also around OO. Bunging them on a car transporter and sending them on their way but interesting little items.-Anybody know their provenance?

It’s a cracking effort. Fair play for just using the Bachmann scenecraft TMD fuelling point though as it was a good model straight out of the box!

I decided it could belong to the local farmer away from the depot confines as it doesn’t stand up well against the professionally made Oxford Diecasts! As far as I’ve time to take it for now.

First pass trial fit to see how it will look. Need to apply silver to bumpers and the grille plus tail lights and maybe number plates. It’s probably about 1/74 as it is fractionally larger than I remember Ladas being back then.

Fair play Pete. It’s amazing how many meticulous layouts just then plonk vaguely suitable cars on there when after the trains they’re the most easy way to date a scene.

Pity it’s not 1/76 as it’s a real vehicle and would be a great talking point in a town square with a marquee and promoters or similar next to it!

Decided to bite the bullet and improve the Fiat 1200 aka Lada. Removed the glue soaked original wheels. Will use the wheels off the Oxford Allegro for no reason other than its surplus as the 4mm scale owner has just received their new Maestro! Managed to prise the chassis away sufficiently to paint the grille area as it would have been a pain to do it with the bumper in situ. The back is glued so will have to manage. Was able to draw out the glazing through the gap. Just need the time now. It may sit in this sorry state for weeks now! The tiny little Fiat 850 makes another appearance!

Oxford have a better licensing deal with those manufacturers and I have seen Oxford Diecast products in the glass main dealer merchandising cases in JLR showrooms so is suspect it’s a two way thing.

In fairness 20 each is not bad when you look at what folks charge for triang and the like. There’ll be takers for reliveries improvements or other kit bashing or scratch building attempts
