Hi,
Yesterday, I was taking a trip down memory lane back to my childhood days, living in Derbyshire... when I happened to Google the model shop that used to be on Cockpit Hill in Derby. I hit on a post on your archived forum dating back to 2008, when a "Peter from Wimborne" started a similar nostalgic post, asking if anyone remembered this great model shop in Derby. His post didn't garner much response in 2008. Well, Peter... if you're still here... I remember Syd Sharrock's shop very well indeed and, as a 10-yr old schoolboy, Syd must have been the beneficiary of 99% of my pocket money, mainly spent on Airfix WW2 plane kits and 1:72 toy soldiers. Quite something that you are now (or was back in 2008) living in Wimborne, were I too lived for 6 years after moving south, being born & raised in Derbyshire. I live in Canada now... don't suppose you've followed my trail here too, eh?
I was back in Derby earlier this year... wow! what a change... no more Syd Sharrocks of course. What a great time the 60s were to be a young boy with a few pennies in my pocket to spend on an Airfix kit. Quite right... happy days indeed! Always a model-maker looking for something to build and model-making has grown into building 1:1 scale model house out here in Canada, which is great fun too! Always a kid with some building project on the go. All the best to everyone and especially to Peter from Wimborne.

thank you, I am also considering purchasing a lokprogrammer and am wondering where I might be able to get British files to tinker with decouder sounds, probably loksound v5
-
If it is a loksound select, is it possible to have it reblown or not ?
-
I would like to know , if I use 2 speakers, will that get me better sound and if so what is the pest way to wire them up. Thanx in advance
-
Hello,
I cannot find anything on this so am posting hoping I have not missed a post on the subject.
I know that in the end it is personal preference but here we go.
I want to fit sound to my new DP1 without any modifications so which is the best choice of speaker and decoder.

Hi,
Has anyone had dealings with these chaps and if so what is their service like ?
-
Cant really answer that, I never gave a double slip a thought. I am not really familiar with railway type movements so sadly it may seem I am doing it as I go along. But no matter a single slip it is.
-
I am using dcc by the way.
-
I am not sure if I am missing something but I have just received my sl 80 and see the wiring diagram on the back. I plan on using servos to control my points but cannot understand where and how I attach the wires to the underside of the slip. Any help would be appreciated but as simple as possible please.
-
I have merg canmios to operate aircraft servo for my points and am also wondering if they would connect to the Z21 cbus
-
Ok, thank you

Hi,
Are either of these systems capable of 4 digit addresses ?
-
Thank you all very much, I realise in the end it boils down to my personal experience but other people's views are always interesting.

Hi,
At the moment I only have a program track as the layout is a work in progress. I have it controlled via merg but am considering an off the shelf system to which end I am looking for suggestions.
I have the following in mind :-
dynamis, nce power cab , Hornby elite or the gaugmaster one.
hope this post is allowed and in the correct place.

I remember Syd Sharon's, what a shop, was always mesmerised when I went upstairs.
