Rough guess, that’s about £8000 of units .

them Accura lads will be contactable in Bermuda with immediate effect

Give me time and I'd pay it

Are you aware Revolution are producing the Class 180 both in N and OO?  I expect Accurascale won't want to compete directly with the model which has now reached EP stage.

Yes but unfortunately not in EMR at this time.

Tbf though, it's a list of what I'd like. Not what I expect to get made

  2. Definitely not all at once but if we were going for the stock list I would like to end up with in TOPS order:

    Class 180 EMR - 2+

    Class 222 EMR - 3+

    Class 319 FCC - 3+

    Class 360 EMR - 2+

Class 373 - At least 6 in original livery plus at least 1 in GNER (If you did the promotional liveries at least one of each as well, though please for my poor wallet stagger them out XD),

    Class 377 FCC/TL - 3+

Class 395 - Max 6 (Yes i know Hornby do them so this is very unlikely but it could do with a few errors fixed and the ability to actually work in multiple)

Class 700 - At least 1 RLU and 1 FLU probably more

Can you guess my dream layout? XD

The eurostar is the one I most care about and you could literally name your price and I would pay it if done to your usual standards even if i had to buy it a few bits at a time. A few features I would like to see though e.g. Working nose couplers and coupler doors for drags

  3. Never going to be able to unsee that ;-;

Aside from that i think the only issue I've got right now, having 1 full midland pullman rake and 1 full east mids rake, is that the power cars don't seem to come with the magnetic buckeyes while the coaches do. So I can get all my coaches coupled magnetically but can't then connect them to the power cars.

I'm assuming it will be to make you but the separate pack R7398, if only those were in stock anywhere......

I don't suppose you will be selling these 3d prints by chance - looking to do a NoL set and these would come in handy rather than me cutting shutting / modifying the end coaches...

    thanks

possible if i ever get it to a point where im happy with it. havent yet done the interior and i have no idea how to do the glazing though. Damn Transparency XD

I'm planning to take another pass at it soon when I have some free time

It would have to be a pretty big layout to accommodate all of those

The shelf is wide enough to accomodate 6 roads and long enough for a full 373 with space to spare. If i ever get the space for a layout I'll be happy, but I have plans to recreate St Pancras even if only as a static display

Certainly on more current coaches/units, where the tech-freaks demand gimmickry like illuminating door interlock lights despite the doors not working..... 🤡

Somebody earlier claimed he'd buy half a dozen full-length Eurostars if they were produced to modern standards. By my reckoning, he'd be spending well into five figures for that quantity!

Mind you, if he can afford a house big enough for a layout to accommodate them all, I don't suppose that would be an issue!

    John

Maybe not for a layout, but I have the space for at least display purposes, and definitely the desire for it. As for cost..., thats what savings and things are for. This is something I've wanted for a LONG time, I'd make it work. Even if I have to try and do it myself as I currently am.

    (Also; not a he :P)

it depends on the model but a ‘normal’ locomotive in 4mm would be around 6 months in design and research, with associated manpower costs, laser scan and survey visits , contributions to owners or preservation groups, then tooling of £125-200k depending on variations and types and then manufacture (the actual unit cost to make, assemble and paint / print and pack the thing) plus , packing, shipping and distribution.

    Thank you :)

  8. Since it got brought up fairly recently I'll readd my longing for a decent eurostar.
Hornbys version is frankly insulting at this point; the missing coaches aside, the quality is so outdated, there are errors all over the place, not even directional lighting... I could go on.

The amount of variations there have been gives good coverage (I count at least 24 different liveries and variations) and there's interest given how much I see the out of production GNER ones go for on eBay and the caledonian sleeper shows long trains can sell.

Basically: give me an accurate model to accurascale levels of quality and detail, working coupler doors and front coupler (preferably schafenburg) so I can do drags, motorised sprung pantographs, proper lighting including carriages (DCC not wand please), and the ability to make a full rake and I would pay whatever you asked and would be buying at least 6 (knowing me: more over time) full sets

On another note: the fact that no one has done an electrostar yet is baffling and whoever gets there first is probably gonna rake it in.

As an aside, out of interest: from idea to manufacture how much does cost to bring a product to market?

P.S If you do do a eurostar and need someone to look at them to check accuracy, I'm available XD

Platform support column for London St. Pancras International terminal, will you be doing the rest of the Victorian Gothic building to go with it ? Now that would be something to see

Dependent on having enough references to do it accurately, that's that plan. Not got the space to have it fully assembled yet but this will take long enough that I have time to work something out

  10. I've given up hope at this point but...

    Relevant to my interests:

    • A retooled eurostar (fix the errors, include a cab, lights, nose coupler, the other 14 coaches)
    • Desiro City (700,707, and 717 around now and could probably do a 185 with a little bit of work)
    • Meridian (Would be more likely from Bachmann)
    • 395 trainbow (with the nose coupler that was originally meant to be included, the interior of the cab roof fixed, and for once the yellow end panels to be right)
    • EMT HST re run
    • Electrostar (how has one of these not been done yet?)
    • Pretty much any other train that's ever run to St Pancras post-rebuild XD
    • 08948

Things I'd buy even if they don't fit my future layout:

    • Flirt (the 745 just looks so nice)
    • Networker (465 and 466, wouldn't need too much update)
    • the 2 pendolino cars to be able to make a prototypical 11 car

  11. Finally found the reference for the holes in the inverter door which means I now have completed all six different variations in the underframe doors.

    image.png.374d1cf60f43132b6597fbf188cfc7e2.png

The only part of the underframe left is the steps which I'm still looking for references on and then the underframe will be completely done.

After that, the only things left to do will be the bodyshell differences for the r6 bar car, the interiors, and working out how I'm gonna make the actual windows

Tried printing a body shell out at 55° to see if it would improve the print, suffice it to say: some benefits, some cons. Need to think about it

0° on left, 55° on right

This is awesome keep it up.

Ive got a saturn here myself just sadly lacking the CAD skills lol

That's one of the reasons I love sketchup, it's just drawing individual lines. I have zero skill in other cad programs. The only real issue, which may be my lack of skill, is it doesn't really handle complex curves well, so I'm dreading eventually getting round to the front of the power car

  13. I believe they announced when they originally did the eurostar that there would be more coaches and then... there weren't. Though I dont want them doing the others unless they're with a retool of the existing stuff.

The bodyshells for the intermediates are over 9" long so with the right angle 9" z might work with enough x and y. If I ever did the existing Hornby coaches or power cars (way in the future)then i think even that won't be enough
