  9. Lovely layout, shame you are so far away from Cupar as would have been nice to have the layout at our exhibition. Cupar is twinned with Sainte Menehould in Argonne Forest.
  10. All set up for the show Saturday. Doors open 10am to 4pm.
  11. Thrift Drift - O Gauge British Thrift Drift mine. For the impression of a working colliery as at Earlseat Fife, several drift mines feed into central buildings. The “Pug” shed is based on that at Frances colliery which was also located in Fife. A loco propels a pair of empty wagons in for loading and through some clever manoeuvres behind the scenes re-emerge loaded with coal. Typical locos could be a Peckett, Sentinel,Barclay or a diesel such as an 03, 05 or 08 shunter. The TT (3mm/1ft) narrow gauge loco on the upper level has a plastikard bodied approximation of a battery electric loco on a TT
  12. Williamson River- HO Canadian The layout represents a small industrial line, somewhere in British Columbia, Canada. Featuring a small terminus station where Budd Rail Cars take passengers to work. The line has mixed freight services from both Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific (CP). A small fuel terminal receives fuel tankers thanks to its track access. Cut Lumber is delivered to the Timber yard by truck and departs in mixed freight cars. The larger industrial building receives and dispatches multiple box cars. Williamson River was featured in the October 2020 issue of Continental Modeller.
  13. Loch Nagar - OO British Loch Nagar is the Creation of Club member Chris. This layout was built during the lockdown of 2020, and depicts a generic factory setting somewhere within the UK. The layout is designed to run stock from 1940 up to the 1970s. Built in a rifle case the layout measures 3' X 1' including fiddle yard. The layout was created using what ever Chris had in the house at the time and proved to be a great project to help the days pass while not being able to go anywhere. The layout is operated by way of a Gaugemaster series UF single controller mounted directly to the base board next to a switch panel for the points which are SEEP motors controlled by push to contact switches. This album shows you the layout from start to finish.
  14. Mossmorran TMD - OO British Mossmorran Traction Maintenance Depot is a fictitious layout based on a typical Network Rail TMD from the year 2000 onwards which allows a varied selection of locomotives from varies companies to use it. The layout name comes from the Mossmorran Natural Gas Plant (NGL) in Fife and the TMD is fictitiously located on the upper Southside of the high ground. The unique back-scene which is nearly 14ft long uses about 65 photos stitched together and printed out in 6 individual sections. The TMD has the usual facilities, a twin road loco servicing shed with a pit and jacking facilities, diesel fuel storage tanks, a fuel drop off point, 3 x refuelling bays, a single road wagon/serving shed, an oil and liquids storage area, scrap parts areas for recycling, some offices and a power control box.

  16. The Cupar kit is a result of Cupar & District Model Railway Club working with the designer Iain Ross, we provided the architectural drawings and many photos. The kit will initially form part of a diorama that will be displayed at Cupar Model Rail 2022 and in an unannounced venue within the town in late Summer 2022. The diorama will also be made available for display at events, attractions and groups in Cupar and the surrounding area. Ultimately we plan on incorporating it into a OO Gauge model railway exhibition layout.

  18. We have had notification from Fife Council that the Corn Exchange is going to be used as Vaccination centre for the foreseeable future. As a result there is no guarantee of the hall being available in July. Therefore we have taken the decision to cancel Cupar Model Rail 2021. I’m sure you will understand the reasoning. Let’s look forward to Cupar Model Rail in July 2022.
  19. That was a photo taken when the layout was being built. The transformer is in a self contained ventilated box that plugs in to the layout and sits on the floor.
  20. Thanks for the nice comments. Will get Chris to take top down view photo for you and post it later.
