@Model Railway Noob, Mike sorry for our late reply we saw your posts yesterday and had to research to confirm your orders with us and who you was, we have had to check to see what went on here.

We did have a few issues with our web hosting provider due to quantity of traffic on our website during several times last year and also lead to us moving hosting provider after many failed promises that our email & web hosting would be reliable enough, this has since been resolved and was very frustrating for us as a company, we are sincerely sorry if anyone was affected by this!

We promise all our customers we do upmost to reply to everyone as quick as possible, we receive many requests help and advice daily from customers, and we are more than willing to speak to anyone via telephone: 01623 759939. 9am-5pm mon-friday.

We will happily contact you tomorrow @Model Railway Noob as we dont want anyone to feel unhappy or frustrated with their order.

We did actually ship goods that were ordered (see Below), but just to inform you that your order was correct as shown in picture below we apologize if any confusion but 20 couplings is the same as 10 pairs as seen in the order below, 1 pair = 2.

1st item: 1 x Hunt Couplings ELITE - Standard Coupling - Couplings for NEM Sockets - OO Gauge - Coupling Pack Size: 20 Couplings (10 Pairs) (Pictured Left)

    2nd Item: 1 x Hunt Couplings - Screw Coupling - 5 Pairs - OO Gauge (Pictured Right)

3rd Item: 1 x Hunt Couplings - Standard Coupling - 10 Pairs for NEM Sockets - OO Gauge (5 Pairs) (Pictured middle)

These are from where we gave options to customers to either select 10 couplings (5 Pairs) or 20 couplings (10 Pairs).

@Jaggzuk, those were the days of just myself ("Chris Bower") and Chris Hunt when we started, we have expanded quite abit as a company since our launch!, we now have our own unit, shop and demonstration layouts located in kirby in ashfield, nottinghamshire, and currently employ 4 staff members along with myself Chris Bower & Chris Hunt, too working on various new projects and customer orders, since the launch, we will be hosting a online live-stream in due course with company updates, all our customers do receive updates via email send-outs.

I received my couplings recently and I thought I'd share my thoughts.

I intend running fixed formations on my layout so these seemed ideal. I hadn't had many issues with the TLC supplied with these but I liked the look of close coupled coaches.

I ordered Close Coupling set for NEM pockets on my Bachmann Mark 1's and visually they are extremely good.

    hunt3.jpg.19b75bc7f8a06cc21c823052558ea8e5.jpg

However, I had a few issues. Some fitted well but some were very tight in the NEM pocket and I had to file out the pocket before they would fit. Others were not tight enough and resulted in the coaches uncoupling. Also, the rake made an odd clicking noise on the curves that I haven't been able to establish the cause of. In the attached photos it doesn't look like the buffers are touching on my 30inch curves.

    hunt.jpg.fe4bb6a83b03042bff4cb23e1b29d92c.jpg

The noise may be the coupling rubbing against the underside of the coach frame as in this photo. The Bachmann TLC's avoid this contact with a drop in height rather than coming straight outward.

Overall I think these are good and I want them to work for me but it seems I have had more issues than anyone else posting here.

Hi just to let you know we do do specific couplings for those -https://westhillwagonworks.co.uk/couplings-new-c-2/hunt-couplings-original-oo-gauge-c-15/hunt-couplings-pullman-coaches-5-pairs-oo-gauge-p-46

In some ways it’s a shame that auto coupling isn’t possible with them as I suspect they’d get a much bigger uptake if they could. Maybe that’s for the next gen ones?

That said, they do look a lot neater and easier than tension locks!

Auto uncoupling? Something is on the  way sshhh :-)

Yes, still got spares as the powercars need work more frequently than the coaching stock. There will be 28 powercars in total so there will always be spares to cover for heavy maintenance or any other issues.

155 is currently spare at Laira, it was stood down for B exam towards the end of April.

Hi @Afroal05 the powercar couplings are now available to be added or purchased seperate, see our facebook post here:

Note these one have a specific design by the looks of it. Not sure these come with the ones for the loco though?

Hi @TomScrut they are for 10 pairs, but if you require a pair of the hst powercar coulings included just drop a message on checkout, a HST pack with the power couplings will be available from Tommorow, just got to finish the photos, regards Chris

I really like these couplings and I am in the process of transferring them to most of my Freight rakes.

I am just wondering if anyone has managed to successfully use these couplings with the new Hattons Class 66. I am finding it impossible to keep the connection between Loco and the first wagon on any radius on curves. The rest off the wagon rake handles the curves no problem and I do not have this issue with Hornby or Bachmann Locos so I am guessing this relates to the Hattons design.

I am using the standard couplings and I have tried both normal and stepped versions.

hi @Dicky L we are working on a hinged type to work with the hattons 66 they have been abit of a headache for us too! Especially second radius curves.

we’ve just done specific ones for the Bachmann pullmans as we got requested and we’ve had requests for hattons 66 we working on them along with N gauge releases both be available soon keep an eye out on Facebook page for updates

    That's really subjective though.

As I said...  for me, these are great.  My layout isn't for shunting and I don't need to couple / uncouple wagons or coaches.  For my fixed rake of MK3 coaches, they are a game changer compared with the more expensive Kadees.

I don't give a monkeys about close coupling (yet).

Your wants seem to be close coupling and shunting.

This product isn't aimed at you.

For my wants, this is exactly the product I could do with.

Try emailing, Facebook Messaging, YouTube commenting...  no responses.
Reminds me of a now defunct model manufacturer - good products but clearly a victim to their own success.

Do the clip style HST couplings allow the train to go around 2nd radius curves?

Hi yes @bart2day they are intended for second radius and above :-)

  9. Hi there we manufacture and designed the hunt coupling system, These are aimed at simplicity for people to add and remove rolling stock on and off the layout along with close coupling also allowing rakes to be pushed around the layout easily i.e those running mk3's with a dvt.

Tested for second radius and above and with 1 in 4 gradients and offering reliable coupling solutions for many

More are back in stock next week due to the extremely amount of sales within the first 24 hours! we are working around the clock for more to be released as soon as possible, keep an eye out on our facebook page for updates
