I’d certainly recommend the finest one as sanding the other materials flat takes ages and it’s very easy to round off details you want. I’d literally just bought the print for the 2-10-2 when the Tillig range was announced so it ended up as a dummy in the engine shed.

I've done a number of 3D printed models and know what you mean about sanding out the 3D step lines and not rounding off details. So thanks for your feedback. Next will be deciding which motored bogies to buy. The Halling H0m 21mm drive bogie with 8mm solid wheels looks the best so far.

I've got the TT version but not done anything with it as yet.

Which version did you get? Thinking of getting one with the "Smooth Fine Detail Finish" so I don't have to do too much preparation before painting.

  3. Just bought a Tillig 2-10-2 loco for a future Harz layout. Has anyone built an H0m gauge Harz railcar 187 016-019? On the shapeways.com website, there is a 1:87 scale 3D printed bodyshell. The bodyshell comes in three different quality of finish.
