Many moons ago as a child I visited the Atmospheric Railway Museum, which I think was in the Starcross pumping station - they had a miniature version of the system set up inside for kids to ride on, powered by a pair of vacuum cleaners attached to a piston system modified from drain pipes I think! The carriages were somewhat less well fitted out than yours, if memory serves, being a simple trolley covered in a piece of carpet to sit on.
