It probably depends on the flow and even the individual train - these are both imported cars from Southampton to Garston (from 2016) with mixed vans/cars - the first one is mostly white vans and the second much more mixed

    (both Flickr photos not mine)

    66128 at Slindon.

    66184, Slindon, 18 July 2016

thank for for the photos, that helps me a lot thank you very much

one more question,  i noticed the vans are on thee open set,  do they also go in closed set with the roofs or is that just cars?

Looking at Flickr, van trains seem to be mostly white but with some red/blue also. I suspect this is because Ford sell more white colour vans than any other. Cars & land rovers are more varied but would vary depending on the era.

my era is modern 2024 for example so modern cars, do they do mixture of cars and vans now a days or just one or the other?

i will get mixture vans white red white and blue,

I think we have to accept that, like the prototype, these rakes are going to be heavy and will require appropriate traction (I find my Accurascale Class 92 faultless)

I run the the metal bodied Revolution IPA carriers at the front of the rake and the much lighter Bachmann STVA at the back to prevent derailment around curves...unfortunately I am forced to use 3rd radius

i use my 92 some times but other times Bachmann 66 as the AS ones haven't arrived yet,   i look into the oxford vans and use my 92

do you use plain white ones or any colour transits vans & cars?

i did the same have the revolution ones at the front and Bachmann on the back,  i found Bachmann derails tho not all the time on my 3rd radius but works well at the back on my 4th radius.

Although Oxford Diecasts Transits have plastic bodies the metal bases really put up the weight. For an older period the Rietze Ford Transit vans in 1/160 are really light and available cheaply from a couple of Ebay sellers in Germany at the moment ….les than £3.50 each. Suits my continental car carriers. A 3D printed replacement chassis for the Oxford vans would be a useful alternative for UK operations.

    i could 3d print chassis

Not totally sure but I think letterspider was referring to OO version where I think the Oxford Diecast transits are metal bodied?

sure Bachmann did plastic minis but cant find them plus ones go through Stafford and crewe mainly transit and cars, but if they to heavy i leave them empty?

The rakes I see from Dollands Moor have mainly Ford transit vans, Ford mondeos. I used Oxford diecast - however my rake is REALLY heavy.20221213_182559.jpg.40d830e652e4ae944efa1e4662634694.jpg

    is that because they diecast?

im looking to make if i can the ones that go through stafford and crewe

i assume you have the ESU chip though, that would work depending on your DCC system.

I've got the dongle and working my way through loco's and adding them, great system if you can live with a few limitations.

yeah i got sound fitted AS locos,   for what i want to do it is great,  yes it a pain adding the functions, but  you only have to add them once and then you can set them to all locos using that functions list

That looks to me as if you need Accurascale's "D423", then do two things :

Renumber it to you chosen TOPS numbers and BR arrows.

Fit the MU jumper cables - which Accurascale may even supply within the box

As far as I can tell, the only BR blue versions in the initial run are D423 without MU jumpers and 50006 with nameplates on the bodysides.  I am surprised Accuracale haven't chosen a BR TOPS numbered example as transferred from the LMR to the WR - prior to naming and prior to refurb.

there more likely be a run 2

Because the worst thing I find when working in support is when the people you are trying to help don't respond to you when you are just trying to help them. Conversely it's your job to respond in a timely and efficient manner when a customer asks for an update on their issue.

My experience of AS Support was as I described. When it went quiet, I asked for an update and immediately got one. Even if that update was there being no change.

same with me,  it went quiet,  i asked for update they said all fix now we also updated the firmware,  next thing i know i got the loco back in my hands and runs well still

I work in IT support and we always ask for screenshots of issues and error messages. A user can try to describe an issue or error all you like. Seeing an image of it allows myself and other IT professionals to pick out other things in the error.

Therefore, seeing a video of the issue will do the same thing here. AS support will spot things that they may have seen on others. Thereby they will know much better what the cause of the problem is and find the resolution faster.

Trust me, asking end user questions isn't any sort of delaying tactic. It's to find the cause and resolve the problem ad quickly as possible.

have you tried turning it on and off again.

sorry couldn't resist i have watched the IT crowd :D

Afternoon Fran  - it didnt read like that to me as recipient to be honest.

This is how the request for video was justified by support  ' Its so we can see it moving slowly as we have had several models sent to us to have issues resolved and when its arrived in the workshop it has worked fine.'

The mythical modeler who apparently enjoys sending £270 models back in the post just for the hell of it will presumably just film their loco running dead slow anyway?

when i do my videos i always make sure i have the DCC controller  in as well so they know how much power i have it on,

I've got one of the latest batch of 37s on pre-order and anticipate receiving it in the next couple of months or so. However in view of all the comments about problems of one type or another that so many people appear to have experienced with their 37s I'm rather beginning to regret it. I only hope that steps will have been taken to ensure that the problems encountered in previous batches will have been recognised and resolved in the latest batch.

i had issues with both my 37s,  but that did not stop me pre ordering a colas 37,  or load of 66s etc,  you wont regret it,   they are lovely runners and are stunning models

No obvious damage and it’s been sitting in its box since it’s last run.  As I’m a DCC dummy, how do you do a decoder reset?  I just don’t want to compound the problem, even though I think it’s a simple fix.

put the loco on your programme track and its CV 8 = 8
