Wondered if anyone out there might have a map for the proposed line from Longridge to Hellifield that was never built ?
Many thanks in advance.

Clear as mud then really!!! Thanks for the replies.

I always enjoy watching these fantastic old films from the 40's 50's and 60's . Got me wondering who exactly holds the copyright to these now, if anyone?

In fairness received a reply from them today

Had complete refunds from Hattons. No probs there. Disappointed however not to receive any email reply from Rapido to my non-judgemental email to them.

Well what a comprehensive and very useful set of replies. Thank you all. I have much to consider. I concur greatly on the need for sparkling rails but funnily enough have not been too impressed with my 57xx (split chassis model to be fair)
I was surprised to see a Hornby model in the suggested list , but hey its been a while since I bought one.

I'm after buying new a 00 UK RTR steam outline shunter (any region and preferably flywheel fitted) and analogue in the £150-160 price range - I'd be really interested to know of any loco that fits this criteria that you've found to be a particularly good slow reliable runner . I'm presently shunting my very small shunting layout with a Bachman 56xx which while not a shunter of course ,performs magnificently at the work!
So come on then, what do you roll out for the shunting turn ?

Yes sound chipped version. I have emailed Rapido.

Hi I'm fairly new to DCC. My first and only loco is a Rapido Hunslet 0-6-0. Lovely looking loco and a lovely smooth runner . However my first one failed after a week or so and this replacement has failed today after about a month (Both suddenly non-responsive) A friend of mine bought the same loco at the same time and his failed with the same problem after a couple of weeks.
Its upsetting and not a tad annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this problem please? I have to say its not a great introduction to DCC in my mind. Anyway, over to you...

Just about to go dcc on a layout that has magnets under the track for us in the Brian Kirby uncoupling method (each uncoupling point has 4 magnets taken from furniture catches joined together) .
I suppose I'm slightly anxious that somehow these might have a detrimental effect somehow on loco chips and I suppose I'm looking for reassurance from anyone who has used or is using this system on a dcc layout
Cheers in advance to any replies

Righteo then , that's great , simpler than I at first thought it would be. The diamond will have a feed - it's feed No 5 on the diagram . Sorry if anyones neck began to hurt looking at that diagram!!!!

Hi
I'm about to 'dabble' in DCC having bought a dcc loco and a friend of mine having set me up with a control set up . In the plan below, previously in analogue with electrofrog points I would have wired my new layout as shown , but what changes do I/ Need to make for DCC please ? Thank you

Anyone else having poor service from Hattons recently ? Phone 'press 1 2 3' choices go nowhere (except back to where you started!) and website insists that I do not have an account with them!
Spent the best part of the afternoon trying to resolve it - failed.
They are also saying that my order has been 'trunked ' Didn't know what that was until I looked it up and I certainly didn't option it.
Not happy bunny at the moment!

Would love to know how this developed

Many thanks indeed for all the helpful replies. I'll be out to photograph soon!

If you would , cheers!!!! Not seen it in Realtime

Some sort of tanker traffic use to run in and out of |Preston Docks. I've noticed on realtime trains a lot of engineering work on the branch of late - Is this an indicator of it running again? Where did it run to?

Belated thanks

I seem to remember a layout in RM in the 70’s depicting a joint GWR S and D station in Bath .

Always thought it odd that the 56xx's worked up and down valleys in South Wales with many a heavy coal train but was judged to have insufficient braking capability to be let loose on the S&D after one single test. Odd. Often wondered if it was for some other reason altogether.

I've recently become very interested in the Whittingham Hospital Railway having recently moved to very near by. I seem to remember that in one of the magazines a few years back there was a model of a Hospital Line and I'm wondering if it was of this. If it was a model of this line, then any idea what magazine and the month please anyone?

I thought as much so thanks for confirming.

Two questions really Did - B12's ever work through the Darlington area and did 04's ever work in and around the Wearside area?

Thanks everyone for the great replies.
Map for Longridge to Hellifield proposed line
in UK Prototype Questions

I think a later plan did indeed continue on from Longridge itself and did plan to join at Hellifield. I think there were 3 proposed plans during the course of a few years. The cutting at Hurst Green
