Hi everyone, I have just moved house and have started my new railway layout. As I expect everyone will know the problem of having children and a demanding job I never had enough time to finish a layout between houses and life. I now have the time to build my layout and my wife being a keen crafter loves the scenery side of the build. This leaves me to do the electrics I have decided to go with DCC-EX and am layout focusing on steam trains and the scenic modelling of the 50/60's. I have designed the layout using AnyRail and have started converting my computer room by moving my storage up into shelves above the layout and battening three of the walls to support the base boards. I have a 3cm foam insulating boards to cover all the baseboards and additional foam boards to use for elevations of 3cm (to get 6cm for clearance). Also 8cm foam boards for building rocky hillsides.
Build is 00 Gauge. All measurements are in cm.
Would be interested to hear any tricks/tips.

The problem with a status update is that only the most recent four are shown and then they're forgotten about. Your layout appears to be a single circuit, but where you have elements of that circuit running in parallel, your track centres are all over the place and all trains would have to run in the same direction. Normally on a double track section, one track is for travel in one direction and the other is for travel in the opposite direction, with trains driving on the left in the UK. It seems to lack what I'd call 'operational interest'.
