I think you might be right.................
Many thanks,
Tony.
Seeing Andrew's post I think probably not. Also the DJH Banbury box pre-dates the Alexander kit.

Is the Q6 a Chivers, or the NuCast kit?
Or perhaps from a Dave Alexander kit.

For your info I've just completed my review of the J27 for Sept TCH.
Andrew
Thanks Andrew, I look forward to reading it. This will be my third J27, the first is in EM in NER livery and the second in OO in BR Livery. Both are from Dave Alexander kits.

Email from Hattons advising my early BR J27 is in my trunk.

I probably won’t model Welwyn North tunnel, might be a bit too cramped. But if it does fit I will.

Ordered today, following an email conversation with Andy regarding an extra window in the back, which he is able and willing to provide. That's Treloggan Junction Signal Box taken care of. Pentowan will probably be a straightforward Ratio 552 but with the steps at the other end.
Andy is very helpful and thoughtful. He sent me extras of the more delicate parts because the package had such a long journey to Oz thus increasing the risk of damage!

John I suspect you have sorted your signal box requirements but this may be of interest:

I have built his NER box and am very happy with it.

I bought a secondhand Perseverence GC clerestory third built by a friend of mine. I substituted brass D&S bogies as replacements for the over tall w/m ones supplied with the kit and also made the body sit as low as possible - it's still a bit high but no where near as much. I can't do anything about the end profile of course. I have two to build myself at some stage and have D& S bogies for those as well.
Andrew
Ignorance is bliss Andrew! I bought one off ebay some years ago and not knowing much about GCR rolling stock built it as it came. I must remember to exclude any GCR afficionados from my next meeting.

Thank you for the information on alternate sources for the A2/2.

To all you lucky people who are enjoying your A2/2 Hattons has just denied me that pleasure. Two days ago an email advised my pre-order had been processed.I wake this morning to an email advising a refund has been processed as the item had been oversold. What has happened to the usually reliable Hattons or does the problem lie with Hornby?

Just received an email from Hattons advising my order for Cof N has been processed. I pre-ordered mine quite late so I presume they have received the bulk,if not all, of their allocation.

I hope you enjoy re-furbishing hand made points as much as i do. It gives me a good feeling of waste not want not and it is much quicker than starting afresh.

John I think you are a little too generous to Dapol regarding the problems as minor niggles. The snapped boiler stay to my mind puts it out of that category. I do understand you probably wanting to avoid the nuisance of returning it.

That is interesting. Although disappointed it is not DofM they have at least chosen a non-streamlined version, and as you say there is a HD connection.

A little disappointed it is not Duchess of Montrose, my first HD model in 1956, but have ordered one nonetheless.

Good to see that some of Harry's stock has been able to find its way from Stafford to Mid-Cornwall.

Tony, if you do decide to use the Airfix/Dapol kit Fox do a very good set of transfers and etched maker's plates.

It could be the Murray Bridge spelling of Murray Bridge...
The Mureay is plausible, but Bridhe???

John, I would be very surprised if the GST ended up in the Australian Government coffers.

I used to buy on Ebay until they introduced their extortionate Global Shipping Program (GSP) which costs two to three times what previously individual sellers were charging. Additionally a charge for GST is added at a rate that is well above the actual rate of 10%, even though GST does not apply to second hand sales! Occasionally a seller is found who does not use the GSP but this is now very much the exception. All this makes purchasing D&S kits on Ebay a very expensive proposition for us antipodeans.
