You need a couple of Markits vacuum cables and also guard irons for the driving trailer bogie.  I converted these from the Hornby LMS NC coaches (NOT the old Airfix NC coaches).  You can probably get an end kit for Wizard under the Comet brand.

Pull push gear was scratch built from bits and bobs.  10664 was actually so fitted.  It is actually lined red but the muck obscures a lot of that.

Likewise 7479 was P-P fitted in life.

    Thank you John.

Those models looks brilliant! The look of the L&Y Class 5 in LMS lined Black is lovely even in its mucky state.

I'll have to check out Wizard to see and a bit of bashing from an Ivatt Body might be in order.

  2. Hello all!

I've been quite interested in the LMS push Pull coaching stock recently and decided I wanted to use the push pull fittings on one of my locomotives and coaching rakes.

However I have struggled to come across any kits that allows me to create these push pull fitting. Does anyone know where I could possibly buy a set from for both loco and coaches in 00 gauge??

Pictures attached showing LMS style Push Pull fitting.

  3. I live near Alsager, and the old shed was my dad's playground. I know that they handled coal traffic, as up the Audley branch there was a colliery. I think they also covered traffic from Barkers Quarry, which is where twifords was and where a housing estate is being built, but I'm not to sure about that. I also think that there was probably just general goods too, coming of trains from Crewe, from Stoke, etc. There the only ones I know of.

  4. How did you make the chassis for James? Was it a set of Pony wheels from a Graham Farish large prairie and the drive wheels from a 4F? Or is it something else. You mention it being a 4F but the pony truck is not told, Along with that do you have more pictures?
