  1. dowlais ironworks, they had a few 0-4-0's in that shape and i think one of the 0-6-0's shown above.
  2. there is also going to be some 4 wheel coaches made by hattons that are somewhat generic
  3. not to derail the conversation any more but would you mold your bill shell to make ben or would an ertl meet the hacksaw for him?
  4. So I've got good news and bad news. Good news is I have gotten the class 28 shell to fit on the E4 chassis. Bad news is that I accidentally blew out the motor in an attempt at testing it. So I am going to order a replacement from Bachmann and hopefully I will get this project rolling along. Edit: pic here
  5. If they want that they should buy five or six of them. Sounds like it would be a fun event.
  6. dalby/tv series percy was very tall and wide compared to the later, more industrial percy.
  7. sounds great, hope it stays away from icy rails and home signals.
  8. Henry wouldn't be able to pull the express before getting welsh coal so he could run better and actually do work without running slow all the time. After the kipper accident he was rebuild in the shape and style of a black five which made him a lot more useful.
  9. There is said to be at least 3 other tender engines before James arives and a good few midland tank engines from a line that predates the nwr. Other than those engines it's said that there is other steam engines on sodor not featured in the books.
  10. I'm still working on the class 28 and it seems like the work will be slowing down for this semester of college. I'll update you guys and not guys as soon as I get the shell on the chassis.
  11. Haven't worked on the class 28 recently but I did get a whistle for it and some other things I will show in a little while.
  12. The 0-4-0 I mentioned before has been cleaned up and finally repainted. Needs another coat and then some black coats on the roof and smokebox. He looks pretty neat right now.
  13. Nice! I bet with the new Bachmann Thomas range coming out in the uk next year there will be a lot more models using them as a starting point.
  14. June of next year has been given as a date, but I'm betting it will be later next year
  15. I've given it a 3rd coat and picked out some details on the model. I attempted painting the cab but it didn't go that well so I'll probably repaint the cab. Need to touch up a few spots where the gold got on the black but I don't think it looks too bad now. I'll need to get a few tools to attach the chassis and get the tender and wheels before this project is close to done.
  16. The closest engines to this idea would be Oliver, the 14XX auto tank who ran away from BR and got rescued by Douglas, and an engine who never got a book, Barry. He was supposed to be an engine left in Barry Scrapyard and restored by the 3rd Fat Controller. That book got axed in favor of more stories about Thomas and the more well known characters.
  17. They aren't ready to run but there are some body shells for loco's like that on Shapeways. But I'd try to get them directly from @Knuckles as Shapeways' pricing is pretty bad. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/sparkshotcustomcreationsscc?section=4mm+Furness+%26+Cambrian+Loco'+Bodies&s=0
