  1. Granville Manor arrived yesterday and running well, after an exciting delivery by DHL . I received notification from DHL that parcel had been delivered and signed for by myself.  No such thing. Later retrieved parcel from an address about 3/4 mile away where it had been left on the doorstep. Looking back a couple of weeks, 7812 also said to have been signed for by myself, but I was not at home at the time of delivery. Parcel found on the doorstep by my wife after she noticed someone disappearing down the drive. DHL's signed for service apparently leaves much to be desired, at least from their Portsmouth Depot

Accurascale are taking this up with DHL, but it might help them to learn of the experiences of others

  2. My apologises Fran if this has been raised in earlier post which I missed.

The recent discussion on coupling brought to my mind the easy or otherwise of fitting Alex Jackson's  and hence  then to the easy or otherwise of conversion to P4. With some recent offering by others this has proven near if not completely impossible. In one case I had intended removing an near excellent body to replace a 40 year old white metal one, this has been impossible.

  3. A few comments on what would appear to be a wonderful model.

    1. Your listing of amendments on the release of these latest pictures failed to mention that the painting of the fire-iron tunnel should be green. This was pointed out by others during the earlier discussion at Christmas.

    2. The G crest W on the tender and lining of 7818 is questionable. HMRS's 'Great Western Way' p39 specifically states  "Only Kings, Counties, Castles, Stars ,Saints and Halls (not Manors or Granges in GWR days) were lined after 1922". Some doubt might be cast on this as GWRJ Vol 7 refers to "only named engines being lined". Of course it could be a case of swapping tenders with a withdrawn Star or Saint. There is a least one photo of a fully lined 3,500 gallon tender.

    3. As I pointed out at Christmas I feel the BR lining to be too heavy and bright. GW and BR lining was 1/8" orange 1/2" green. 1" black, 1/2" green. 1/8" orange. (GWW p25 & 68The only difference between GW and BR being the change from Middle Chrome Green to Brunswick.

I do however look forward to receiving those that I ordered so many months ago

  4. Have not read everything in the past 13 pages, so apologises if raising something that has already been touched upon.

The gap of the loco to tender coupling is usually something totally out of scale. Hattons with their failed 00 King were proposing a swing link as used on coaches. Is anything of that sort proposed here.

I have a couple on order so will obviously be happy either way
