  2. The update on Bambridge. The signals are working, I made up the wall to go infront of the houses with foam board and two layers of photo mount card half the height of the wall, i put them at the back of the wall to make the wall is if it is away from the houses. Then i put stone plasticard on the front of the wall. I then put some very small stones on the top of the wall these i got from Amazon they are used for the bottom of fish tanks. The houses are from Sankey Scenics and cut them out and glued them on the backscene with a glue stick. Then glued the wall into place.

I will be taking Bambridge to Minehead show on the Saturday 1st June. Come and say hi 20240518_150600.jpg.6cbaa87d8fedd801d1ee6cfaf4963f11.jpg

  3. Update.

I have made up the home sighnal and the two ground signals from MSE and waiting for servo motors to be installed.20240512_152209.jpg.3f011dfd96085a836c40e861f0cd9630.jpg

The ground signals. One on the left is a caution signal protecting the main line and the right is a shunt ground signal. The Stop signal has a ground signal for a shunt movement.

  8. After building Feltham Road MPD. I have been busy biulding kit locos and two scatch built locos. I thought I would start on building a new layout and I was inspired by the turntable or sector plate at Bembridge on the I O W it was used as a point for running round its train and thought that would be somthing diffrent to model as a small country terminal layout. So its going to be a micro layout that would fit into a chrismas tree box.

I have got to admit that I did start this last Janurery.

The basebourds I got from Scale Railway Scenics, one for the scenics and a smaller one for the fiddle yard useing cassettes. When i built them i covered them with two coats of PVA to seal them as they are of MDF and then paint the backs with blackbuild paint then varnished them. For the back scene I painted with blue emulsion and then for the clouds I used my airbrush with white with a very small amont of Black.

The Track plan I did on Templot then printed off and glued to the baseboard I then cut the turntable out with a 5ins hole saw and used the bit I cut out for the turntable then glued stiaring sticks from your coffee shop on top, the track on the turntable I had a few chairs left from when I did Feltham Road.  The track is built with copper clad sleepers that I got from Amazon as a complete sheet, I cut it into stripes on my band saw then cut the stripes to length with sharp sissers as required lenghts according to the track plane, the rail is code 75 soldered to the copper clad useing my gauges. The bridge as a scenice break was built from photo mount board with emboss stone plasticard. The platform I used faomboard for the walls with the stone plasticard and also for the platform supports the top i used the photo mount board.

The Goods shed is a wooden clad shed the back of it is on the platform I built this much the same as the bridge with photo mount card around the bottom I put on the stone plasicard then the clading was done with plasticard cut into strips and glued onto the card then I put boarding down the corners.

Thats is the state of play at the moment.

If anyone going to Minehead Exhibition on the 1st of june this will be there as work in progrees.

    Evening all

Yes I know its been rather quiet here for a few months!.

Last Friday an end was put to the jeopardy that Tidworth has been in since June when my new company car was ordered! With the Mondeo estate not available anymore and few other options an order was placed for a Ford Kuga with fingers crossed! Although it is around 250mm shorter in the load space Tidworth thankfully fits.

    4_Kuga1.jpg.ab479772bab50e7cfc0f079e094cd3cf.jpg

However there is no room at the back for the stock boxes like the Mondeo.

    5_Kuga2.jpg.088c6b77cd2b2a2aad4693d9dfd78584.jpg

The only way to get everything in is not to carry a passenger unless another operator can take the stock! Obviously the boxes will need lashing together with a couple of cushions in front to protect them from forward movement.

So panic over, Tidworth can still go to the ball, see you in Exeter!

It was good seeing you yesterday. It is a pane having to have another car to take to Exhibitions which puts up the cast for the exhibition Manager but cannot be helped. O thank bring in the cakes I was prepared to make sandwiches.

  13. King Arthur  TINTAGEL
I finished the tender assembly but still to do is the headlight lamps a Tintagel have electric lighting i had mentioned the on my thread on RMweb and  Paul king of PDK  picked this up and sent me an email from PDK to say he would sent me them through the post. I have started on the chassis. I did have a problem with this as Paul had changed the drawings of the chassis, in which i have phoned Paul about this. In the etchings it has a compensation on two axles but the instructions did not show this and also the front bogie is swiveled by being attached by a 8 ba bolt from under the cylinders but instructions say a bar from the centre of the bogie and runs back and attacked to chassis under the motion bracket.

  14. Today's up date on the King Arthur loco. Finish the detail on the footplate. I had to rebuild the hand brake as it was missing but got the wheel. Built the tool box's on the footplate and soldered the the draft plate and the Beeding on top then soldered the hand rail in place. Then built the two bogis then solder the overlays onto then and glued the axleboxs. I am going to change the lamp iron as Tintagel had electric lighting so I have to make up the lights and put the disc iron on top.
