  1. Thank you all for your replies they have been very helpful. I will shortly be adding some Roco and Fleischmann steam locomotives to my collection once they arrive.... They certainly look beautiful, and as much as I love my OO locos and rolling stock, the German manufacturers appear to be leaps ahead.... Mike.
  2. Good evening everyone, After purchasing some Liliput locomotives a few months back, I was very surprised and pleased to see that they were 8 Pin 'DCC Ready'. I was wondering if there are any other German manufacturers whose 2-rail DC models also come as DCC Ready please? I know that Fleischmann, Roco and Brawa make some beautiful models and it would be great to include some of their fine work into my collection, and not have to worry if they are already DCC fitted or not. Sadly I do not have the time or patience to convert the really old ones re-soldering wires etc. Thanking you all in advance, Mike.
  3. Thank you all for your replies and some very interesting suggestions there too. Graham456 you are absolutely spot on, and thank you. For those who also need them, the link is as follows - https://www.cheltenhammodelcentre.com/display-cases--stock-boxes~1066-c/locomotive-stock-box~207lr-p.html
  4. Good evening everyone, I was just wondering if anyone still produces the cardboard stock boxes for OO Locomotives, Coaches and Wagons please? I am after something like the blue or brown ones that you often see the kit built models in (picture attached). I have seen that Rails do their own, but I do not feel that their extensive branding all over theirs is appropriate for a model they never produced :-) Cheers, Mike.
  5. Good evening everyone, I am after a step to be etched for a brass Mallard Models Luggage Van please. Does anyone know of a company / fellow hobbyist that can produce it for me please? I can supply the 'Net' technical drawing. Many thanks in advance.
  6. Good evening everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good brass kit-builders and painters please? Ideally to the same standard as Lawrence and Goddard. I have a Mallard Models luggage van kit I would love put together professionally. It is without wheels, paint and decals but would happily pay whoever could build it to source and apply them too. Many thanks in advance.
  7. Thank you all for the above posts, it has certainly helped me to understand the origins of these models a lot better. By the sounds of things Larry Goddard is someone who Id like to spend some time with in his workshop learning his painting techniques..... Its a shame he is no longer on this forum.
  8. God evening everyone, I keep seeing Lawrence and Goddard items popping up now and then on eBay. The certainly look like beautiful models but wondered if anyone can fill me in further as there is nothing about this 'manufacturer' online. I assume they were a kitbuilding and painting firm based solely in the UK? If they are hand painted I can only assume their employees were coach painters by trade, I'd never get the detail like that if I tried :-) Mike.
