  1. Further to my post above, I can confirm that there was no front steam heat pipe supplied with the replacement model either.

Seems odd as there is clearly a hole in the model for it - perhaps this is just another omission like the hand rail but can anyone else that has one confirm that theirs does not have one either and that it is not just my model?  Thanks.

  2. Can anyone else that has one of these confirm whether or not your model was supplied with a steam heating pipe for the front of the loco?  There is a hole present in the body where it obviously should go but no steam heating pipe was supplied in the detailing pack and I have searched the internet but cant find any photos of these models with a steam heat pipe fitted so I didnt know whether it was an omission across the board from Hattons or if it is just my model that has this missing?  Thanks.

See below photo in which you can see the hole referred to (taken from the internet and not of my model)

  3. 60011 has a non-streamlined corridor tender on Hornby's version and would assume that they would have done their homework as they usually do.

Real life picture shows it with one too although it isn't dated but the tender has the late crest.

Quite a few do 7mm plates, but my "go to" supplier has always been Severn Mill http://www.severnmillnameplates.co.uk/

His sets for the A4 include the CORRECT worksplates (with the correct works number), a shed plate of your choice if for BR days, the correct tender plates etc etc. The A4 sets also give you the choice of with, or without plaques and in nickel silver or brass.

His site says he has been ill and no sets will be sent out for a few weeks, but well worth waiting for.

I've attached a couple of pics of a set for BR Britannia 70036 Boadicea so you can see the quality.P1030104.JPG.d266bd240a6304b434197eae9d5cfa24.JPGP1030105.JPG.542ff5d272b797ca832be447773bdbdd.JPG

Many thanks for that but do they need to be painted or is there an option to have them pre-painted as this isn't clear from their website?  If not, is there anywhere else that sells them pre-painted? - I have searched Google but not been able to find any.

  5. It appears that sadly Hattons have proceeded to produce 60007 with the incorrect gold lettering on the nameplates rather than silver.  Does anyone know of anywhere that produces the correct silver ones in 7mm scale so that I could fit them myself if I proceed to purchase the model from Hattons?  Many thanks.

  6. Here is the painted sample of 60007 - looks good - the only things wrong with it that I can see are the blue buffer beam (should be black), gold nameplate (should be silver), the top of the tender should be black not blue and the lack of smokebox number plate.  As long as Hattons correct these small details in the final version, I will be ordering one.
