Yes I understand however sadly In my Country (the states) its hard to come across a pair of romford Anything, Let alone axles and wheels in the right size, Hence why I was implying it might be difficult to obtian Some, That and import taxes are pretty expensive now. Hence why I'd like to find something mor available if possible. Thanks for any advice.

Will any princess chassis's work? even the oldest Tri-ang (Non Rovex) Models, how'd I Isolate the body from the chassis, Assuming He'd have the same problem when Awdry Converted his Henry (Graham Farish Black 5) to Use a Tri-ang Chassis, I know Romford wheels are an option, is there a simple way to Convert one? If romford wheels were not an option and they are not for me how would one would?

Hello, I'm Asking on behalf of a Friend, who's got a Twin Trix Railway 3 Rail British Railways Blue Flying Scotsman and I want to know how easy it would be to convert the model over to 2 rail DC, If it would be a simple matter of replacing the magnets and Amateur on the Locomotive or if it would need further modification such as a wheel replacement Can anyone offer any advice? He doesn't run 3 rail... 99% of his models are 2 rail. Thanks for the Help! he's in Canada so models from the UK won't be Available to an extent, So American models will have to be used

Hello, So not having much success with the BEC 2P kit and trust me I didn't do such a terrific Job, I've sent it to a friend who had actually repaired the bad solder joints and actually made it look beautiful, I did remove the base of the model for a new intended loco-bashed chassis, and I'll be sending him a Castle which has been lurking Hattons for Months. The castle will be used for parts... Here's what I'm thinking. Tender shell: to be kitbashed into another kind of tender Tender Chassis: Will be reused in its original format Drivers and bogies: I'm only going to use two driving wheels, and the bogie will be reused. Coupling rods: will be reused but only in a (4)-4-0 configuation. Chassis plate and Screws: I'll be salvaging what I can Coupling hooks: (Tender to engine and Tension lock) will be reused Motor: to be reallocated to the tender. The Overall idea is to still have the locomotive repainted into Edward. Also I've been wanting to model a Cat proof christmas village for TT scale Not that its cat themed I'm thinking it would be based in the English Countryside, I only have a small oval of TT Railway Track. I'm looking for several ideas... Thanks for any info. A Tyco Trains HO 18 volt Train Controller will be used to power the Train set and a The fun bit will be using a Tyco whistling billboard. A few diodes will have to be used in the set slow voltage so it doesn't burn out the motor

I've been wanting to know more about the trains from The Original short from "Wallace and Gromit"--- "The wrong Trousers" were the Body shells of the Models Scratch Built or can I get them from 2nd hand sites or new I assume as Toys? I'm fully aware the Chassis's Of the Trains were reused Hornby 0-4-0 Tank Engines, like the track and signal that was used on set.

Hello, I've been rather addicted to this YouTube channel called Oscar Paisley who has some wonderful reviews online about Tri-ang, Tri-ang Hornby, Hornby Dublo and now Jouef, one that was of particular interest was the RHX set, never able to buy the real thing because of costs which is rather ok, and being rather addicted to Lone Star my idea is to kitbash a Unit w/headlight so it functions like the Larger OO counterpart. Three Treble O Trains Units I'll be taking ownership of a Vista Dome car from the Union Pacific (not sure of the Rarity but they are not easy to come across on eBay) A regular UP coach I'll be removing the rear powered bogie and adding on a Treble O Trains one, part of the rear motor shaft will be trimmed (the front motor shaft, commutator and Armiture will be Spared) The Two other Dummy F units will Effectively be loco based to be built into a EL62A with the tension locks on each end The two Locos Like the coaches will be painted accordingly and re-decal'ed in the same fashion as the 1955 RHX Set by Tri-ang

I have an inquiry about Lone star and their battery controllers in regards to battery boxes, what did most youngsters use to power their train sets when they had one of these, whats recommended/still available or available 2nd hand? I'm hoping to pick some of these online, I'm not sure if Treble-O-Lectric made something for it in particular or if you would have bought something separately, and NO i'm not referring to eBay, which is a hit and miss. I found a seller who is willing to sell some Treble - O - Lectric items to me and I'm super happy! I'm nearing my mid 20s but highly appreciate this classic system, ( I assume most of are in you are getting up in years... no offence, just happy I got some experience to talk to!) thanks again! I don't care much for video games, ironically! but Dovetails Trains Sim comes to mind....

Howdy! I bought a beautiful gem on Hatton's a week ago, which is a model of princess victoria with intentions of reworking it into a Model of Hornby Dublo Canadian Pacific 1215, the Model while only still British outlined at the moment, I want to Modify with a Cowcatcher and a Battery operated headlight, for easier use... I would like a Few tips on this conversion if possible... The Hornby Dublo version is a Gorgeous model but is unconventional on a Standard layout, plus converting a Standard Hornby Dublo model is a Headache in my opinion, not something I want to do per say. but converting an Old 1950s Tri-ang Railways Model... oh Yes! Yes! Yes! P.S. the model does in fact run. And does it run well or what! I cleaned the Commentator, brushes, wheels and lubed it a bit

Hello, I've wanted to talk about this for some time, I just never really got around to it. I have been wanting to convert a Tri-ang Princess Victoria into Canadian Pacific 1215, I've been wanting to use the cowcatcher off my official one as the model doesn't have a chassis... I've ordered a 8P 4-6-2 for use with the project, and I want to add a headlight and a flickering firebox, I was hoping to use the locomotive with the American styled Matchbox cars from days gone by when I'd run trains, it would be a big help, the Canadian Pacific I own is in poor condition and I'd like to reuse some of it for something more common / conventional Thanks again! -Max

If anything I should probably get back to working on these little Guys! you guys gave me a Huge chunk of inspiration, I'm also working on a New OOO layout now! Hello, I'm wondering if it would be possible to replicate the old Airfix Motorized wagons? What modifications would I have to do to a Boxvan By Dapol to get it to move under its own power? Also would I have to weigh the Dapol Locomotives down, by How much? I'm Looking to get another Pug eventually by Dapol and I want it to eventually be pushed by a powered wagon, any suggestions are welcomed! Thanks!

Hello, I'm about to give up looking for this train set, its a very well built HO Toy item however I've seen one on ebay and it intrigued me, I'm about to give up looking because I don't know the name or what it looked like, the controller was red, Contained four D size batteries, I assume they had a very limited run in East Germany and I assume some were sold in the states, (Where I'm, from) the Set had two freight wagons, not sure about a breakvan, I do not remember the wheels on the tender if it was a 3 axle or four axle bogie variant, I'd love to buy two of these for myself, that would be saved for another section of RM web, my only concern now is trying to find a photo of one, the loco was a 2-8-0.... the set had I assume something shunting and had a very colorful 0-3-0 diesel clearly DB if I got that right, here is one of Nomura's other products, Nomura Western Train Set (Example) if I cannot find it I can build one using a Revell HO Locomotive and use some Dapol wheel sets and a cleaver pickup solution in the tender Any info on the set would be appreciated! (That's what I'm mainly looking for)

Hello, I'm a collector of Treble O Lectric F units, I have had a few sets in my time over the past couple years and have been enjoying it! I was hoping to rebuild one of these units, with modern components including just as powerful motors as the originals and also new nickle silver wheel sets although retaining the Rubber brand drive look, I enjoy these old trains because of their aesthetics, and the fact they are representations of Athern RubberBandDrive units, and a mix between Tri-ang too I am not quite sure where to start, what kind of new motor should I purchase, I have tried Eudax 12 volt motors, they didn't work whatsoever (They were too large,) I'm thinking something slightly smaller but again I'm not sure what to use! I'm hoping to repaint a Union Pacific unit into an Early "Phase 1" Amtrak livery, (Considering the fact I got my New Airbrush, so that will be its first use... and I'd be rather thrilled to use it!) which the paint job is quite attractive in my eyes, and I've been wanting a passenger F unit for my N scale layout Thanks again -Max

I recently picked up a pair of Hornby 0-4-0s from Hatton Hobbies, One for a Tram Kit from Budget Model Railways and one for a Bachmann Thomas... Thanks, The kit arrived with one of these that I'm Extremely excited to own and restore. (personally I'm thrilled to have located one!) The Kit was White metal... would it be possible for an owner of this kit to use the wheels from a Hornby 0-4-0? (The New ones) Thanks again. I have taken in a collection of Marklin OO prewar track from a club layout for a dream layout from a Hobby shop, they were bought last year after a train show for $100USD ($17 tax) at a small Hobby Shop in Millvale Pennsylvania called Esthers I need a lot of help mending the three points, and I'm wondering what their value is, I've also gained one semaphore signal from marklin that I hope to get restored but am not sure how it works, its an electrically operated signal, Hoping to use it on the layout at some point in the near future was this a good buy? thanks! Hello! recently I was on Budget Model Railways Website and bought Their Steam Tram kit, I'm Hoping to model a Y6 from the wisbech and upwell tramway specifically Toby 1) I never build one of Mike and Douglas's Kits before but am interested to learn what should I be aware of? 2) what kinds of tools should be handy near by? 3) what kinds of materials should I have near by? 4) what kind of Detailing should I change so the model looks more accurate 5) is it possible to add interior with the Hornby 0-4-0 motor? I do not model the wisbech and upwell tramway, the layout I'm modeling is based on Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends Pardoy Series called Thomas in O Gauge by a YouTuber named Mr James Conductor Set in Winter, One of the "Hand Built" models made by James is Toby the Tram Engine based around a J70 Design unlike Awdrys Y6 which I will be combining both aspects into the Model, which will have kadees instead of screwlinks, while trying to match the Lionel 0-6-0 Mechanism James used, Hence the reason for buying the "Class D" Hornby 0-4-0 shunter for use with the Tram Engine kit instead of going with a motor bogie to mimic the Lionel 0-6-0 Thomas mechanism, Personally I cannot wait to build the kit! and I will be very, very excited to get it in the post. The Layout the Tram Engine will run on which is accurate in terms of Track design to James Layout

A few things I'm really happy about One the inclusion of Tinplate (3 RAIL for crying out loud!) Locomotives (Win for the collectors! prices need to be dropped a LOT to sell more!) Rovex Themed Train Set (Something I hope they continue to produce! especially if they sell 6" coaches more! the amount of projects that could be used for them are massive!) and the Stephenson's Rocket train set! (Something I HOPE they continue to produce for a LONG time, its a much needed model in the range!) Why Hornby! why only 1000 units? surely you could produce much more! think of the Massive demographic you guys have and the amount of people who want these beautiful reproductions! Hello. I should have everything I need, In terms of Modeling Materials including the New Gear from Peco somewhere thats made from brass , I've been wondering on the type of resistor I should need, I'm converting a TT 3F to use a New Tamiya Motor. I know it doesn't fit at the moment, BUT I'm planning to rectify that with some dremeling at some point in the near future. Now I Am Hoping to use the Motor with a 12 volt Tri-ang Controller but am Unaware of the resistor type for dropping down 9 volts, from 12 to 3 Thank you For any Help if possible.
