Really impressed by this.
I'm looking forward to seeing them getting it in some smaller locomotives over time.

Good news!
Let's hope someday England follows!

I think if you go back over the thread, the answer is sadly not.
Rumoured to have been sold to someone who in the process got all the moulds mixed up for the cast parts, rendering them unusable.
A lot of the range has in any case been rendered superfluous by developments in RTR, you simply don't need detailing kits anymore for old Lima and Hornby locos that have been superceded.
Ditto a lot of the DMU etches, with alternatives available elsewhere - think Worsley Works, Silver Fox, plus if you have the money RTR from Bachmann e.g the newish 117, Heljan I think to do a 104.
John.
That's a shame, the loco kits are more what I was after.

Is this range likely to return at any point in the future? Anyone heard anything?

Looks great, should be a lot of fun to operate!

Recently bought the On the Right Track DVDs on Loco kit building that you present. Very informative and it's great to be able to watch someone demonstrating the techniques in a way that a book can't show you.
Hope to have a go soon myself with an SE finecast kit!

Would the Ratio LNWR corridor coaches be of any use on LMS trains down in the west?

Although Limestone quarrying was a major industry on this line, specifically between Millers Dale and Chinley. Did any Limestone trains run down through the Monsal Dale and Millers Dale section? Just wondered as I've never actually seen any limestone traffic in photos on this section.

Had an email from them earlier, they were apparently inundated with preorders and are still working through them!
Quite relieved to hear that, was getting a bit worried it had been lost in the system!

There is that - the trouble is predicting whether that will be before or after required for the future layout.
Given that the layout in question is behind one and a half larger layouts in the queue, perhaps it can wait - but there is real uncertainty and the small question of inflation, too.
If they sell this well I don't imagkne it will be too long until they come back, but likely it will be a different variant.

2021 hopes
in Hornby
If they could fix the broken tooling of the early Castle Class then that'd be a nice re-release

2021 hopes
in Hornby
Even with less prototypes available to choose from it just doesn't get any easier to guess what is coming next.
I reckon it'll be an LSWR T3 and some LNER Coronation/Silver Jubilee coaches.
Wouldn't be surprised if there was a GWR Saint, someone will surely be producing one of them sooner or later. Surely?

Glad that the early signs suggest this seems to be a good seller.
Hopefully it shows we don't always need to have a preserved example in existence to have a successful pre-grouping model.

Rails now have most of them in stock, although the MR version doesn't appear to be available without sound anymore.

Harlequin , that is very helpful . Would be you be able please to measure the “slot” in which the wheels run to confirm my estimate of the dimensions?
Im interested to see if EM wheels would fit .
Thanks
Ken
I think I read that Brassmasters were considering doing an easichas or something for this so watch this space.

Only now realised there is no GWR version with outside steam pipes, seems a strange omission to me...
I would be surprised if they don't do that in a future batch

There's a lovely picture in one of my favourite books, the "LMS in the West Midlands" by P B Whitehouse, of Precedent no. 2194 'Cambrian' at Tamworth in 1924, 'smart and clean in its old LNWR livery... complete with class A headlamps but with non-corridor stock', plate 217.
Worth seeking out this book for some great images of the LMS and informative captions.
All the best,
Keith
Will do, thank you!

What sort of work did these engines do by 1910 and into LMS days?

Would you like the cast version or the etched one?
Hi Bruce, ideally the etched one please, although to be honest I didn't realise there were two versions!

Interested in buying a kit for the Midland 1P in round top firebox form.
