  1. A full house for the 1st release, look forward to any future releases of these magnificent locos.
  2. Well I was surprised, the nameplates in the accessory pack are etched by the looks of things. only scraped some of the back just to see for myself, this I’ll repaint black again at a later date to stop the brass being shown from behind.
  3. Hi Palmsticks, thanks for all the info, is there a chance we could see the nameplates from the accessory pack with the brass showing? when I looked at mine the other day for “Lord President”, they didn’t feel etched, there was more of a plastic feel to them. I’ve also emailed Hornby regarding the guard irons, that were missing from 2003 & 2005, waiting for a reply.
  4. No not yet, but going to send an email tonight and fingers cross, they’ll send some out. not sure if all four variants/ releases are missing the guard irons.
  5. I’ll be interested to know if anyone else is using second radius curves is having a similar experience, I tested mine (it was on a straight peice of track, I’ll get some 3rd radius curves out when I get some free time)and see how it performs). I’ll be using minimum 3rd/4th radius and streamline points on the next layout. Overall, I think it’s a great loco, very well built and there’s good weight for traction, very detailed cab, firebox flicker, improved loco to tender connection. Like the new boxes these are coming in and the information that’s printed on the side and the updated service/manual sheets. I think these new P2S will do very well and looking forward to receiving the other three as well.
  6. Thanks Adi, I thought it was just me being unlucky. I’ll take a look at your review, can’t do second radius? I would of thought it would of managed like “Cock O’ the North” could be a back to back issue, could be too much play on the pony truck? The good news, I’ve been told I can swap the accessory pack for a complete one.
  7. These are the bits I’m on on about that are missing from the accessory pack. I’ve checked the loco have found the holes that these would go in, but tucked right in towards the top under the side skirts.
  8. Hi all, I picked my P2 on the other day 2003 “Lord President” and have just noticed in the accessory pack it’s missing the guard irons. is anyone missing there’s? Apart from that a really nice loco.
  9. Hi No Decorum sorry what I meant was directional cab lights (only one cab will light up when is going in one direction). In Forward direction.
  10. Test ran the loco again it’s much better than it arrived. I need to tell Rails of Sheffield I no longer have issues with this loco, it’s now a keeper. hope this helps. Callum
  11. Well great news folks I now have cab lights working at both ends, how? you need to remove tanks, battery case between the bogies 2X screws and the then four screws, one in each corner and then you need to look for two brass coloured ends (the ones that look like the end of a biro pen, if this sense and what you may find is one of them is stiff and just have to free it. hope this helps. callum
  12. So what do we get in the box? • A user manual • An accessory pack including: 2X narrow tension lock couplings, 4X cab steps, 4X brake rods (I think there brake rods), 2X screw link couplings and 4 pipes (2X steam heating & 2X vacuum?). • A second accessory bag with metal numbers and letters. • A leaflet promoting the Gas Turbine 18100.
  13. Mine arrived Tuesday and as a result of it not being able to go around 2nd radius curves I had to buy a rolling road. (probably not the best set up but, it does the job). Still a lovely model and have to say I’m impressed with it so far. Very heavy probably not as heavy as Kestrel but certainly a contender. Has anyone mentioned about about the cab lights only working at one end? which end is the front? (End one)?
