Traders have a deadline for -their- orders this week. No impact on end customers (other than if your local shop doesn't have your order and under orders :) )

That's a relief! I'm waiting for the decorated samples before I decide which of the SR variants to go for (I'm afraid one of each isn't on the cards right now!). Any news of when we might see them?

Try taking the gangway shields off, it looks like you still have them fitted - If you slide a fingernail underneath them you can pop them off (they are a friction fit)

Ah, I'd forgotten to mention about the shields! I'm in the habit of leaving them on because it's my preference to not see all the way down the length of the coach as they go round my 2nd radius curves. One day when I get somewhere to build a layout with more gentle curves, I'll take the shields off!

I don't think Hornby has yet announced them as a separate item, they are just being included with the latest coach releases. They are too long to properly close couple as they stand.

Are you sure they're too long? They look close coupled enough for me! They're very slightly closer together than a Hornby/Roco close coupling combination, but are easier to couple up. I've been looking at Hunt couplings, I'll get one of their sample packs to have a play with.

There's a wonderful colour photo floating around somewhere of '27, broadside-style, at Stewart's Lane. Surprisingly for the period, it's pretty dirty, and the photo is a wonderful weathering guide which is making me slightly tempted to get a blue one after all. People often talk about the blue fading, but in this photo Port Line has the top row of lining almost entirely worn off, and almost all the casing panel joints / rows of rivets / washout plugs full of black-brown gunge. It'd make a great weathering project with some washes and a dry brush.

    This one?

Almost certainly true given that some of Hornby's are already in stock

And it follows that Hornby would be researching/measuring/photographing Stroudley coaches in late 2019 as a 'go with' for the new Terrier. Perhaps after Hattons made their Genesis announcement Hornby saw an opportunity to beat them to the shelves in the same way as they did with the Rails Terrier.

  6. Mine arrived from Hattons on Friday, runs very nicely even over all my insul-frog points. But the carriage 'Times' is missing a buffer, not loose in the box, just missing entirely! Do we know if Hornby will be offering spare parts?
