Do you know if there are any pictures of the cranked axle.   I am fascinated by the notion of achieving clearance that way

There's this one which shows both the cranked axles whilst bertha is under construction

I'm not sure how changing from one fictional livery to another can be seen as correcting an error.

I thought it was in MR red for a short duration at the start of its life?

When doing technical research for our sound projects we had a graduate mechanical engineer (vehicle technology) on our team.
Based on technical documents he found out that there were probably 3 variants (the last two only for a short time):
    1. Single chimney and a gear apparatus above the LH cylinder,
    2. Single chimney and gear apparatus removed, but an additional bar above the LH gear instead
    3. Same as 2. but with a double blastpipe.

    Saluti

    Alessandro

There was also this variant... be interesting if Hornby added this option.

  4. Seems to be a bit of a lottery atm whether the model you buy will A. Turn up or B. Turn up undamaged. Hope this isn't the case for these models.

Off topic question and not sure if it's been asked before. But does anyone know how many beats per revolution the W1 did? Read some different claims it was 4 beats or 8 like a Lord Nelson.
