Southern-Brighton-Works (1).pdf
Keith,
The NRM holds some of the drawings from Brighton Works. I've attached the list and if you put "Leader" in the search box you'll find some results, which I hope may be helpful. Do note full size copies do cost £30 when I last looked.

In case it is of any use to anyone I did join all the scans of the track plan together and it can be opened in Templot as a background shape.

Hi JackOO,
As you're doing some mock up I thought it might be useful to send you the track plan I have. Unfortunately it's rather long and had to be scanned in sections. They have been reduced to different sizes to come under RMweb's 1Mb limit. As I said in my PM to you the originals are around 30Mb each. If you feel the full size ones would be useful someone did suggest I could try to email them to you.
Still working on the building scans as my scanner has packed up!
Kind regards,
Peter

According to this website it was used as a store by Southdown. It's the 11th bus down.

Here's a link to a nice shot of the goods shed and the next picture shows the platforms with their canopies.

Hi JackOO,
When my father worked at Uckfield he acquired from BR the 1:480 scale plan of the station layout. Also included were scale drawings of the main buildings on the Down platform (also the one on the Up, but this was gone by 1990). Sadly the goods shed and signal box were not included. Would a scan of these be useful to you? I only have the track layout scanned so far. A great little station and I loved listening to the thumpers depart as I stood on the footbridge.

Dear Wild Boar,
Thank you for your reply. I was intending to use your wagon to model RDW161021 which was used as a track vibration vehicle. As the warflat without jacks is still under consideration, I think I'll purchase the one with jacks and gently remove them.
Kind regards,
Peter

Dear Wild Boar,
Hope you don't mind me asking, but are still intending to release a WW2 Warflat without jacks at a future date?
Kind regards,
Peter

Hi Darius,
I've been reading through my copy of The '4 Sub' Story published by the Southern Electric Group. It was published in 1983 and states 'Some units have been used to spread 'Sandite' onto the running rails.' Unfortunately, it doesn't list which units were doing so at the time of publication, but may give you some justification for adding Sandite if it fits your timeframe.
Kind regards,
Peter
