Don't worry, it takes me weeks as well.
It helped that 5 out of the 6 wagon types are related so it was just a bit of "cut and paste".
The next one I do, I'll try to log the time spent drawing (GER Diagram 16 5 plank open - by popular request at the agm).

Timber,
It's the resin that does the work (and Tinkercad).
Elegoo Water Washable Transclucent, 50/50 (ish) mix of red and green to get the gungy brown colour.

RCH 1923 7 planks in 5 flavours for the SSMRS agm next weekend.

I found that twisting the axle into the wheel rather than a straight push worked better for the 3'6" split spoke wheels I did a while ago.
That and a taper in the bore and a clean, burr free bevel on the axle ends.
I'll dig out the wheels I did and see how they are doing.

Timber,
Resin printed or FDM?

Any particular reason for printing the sleepers with a grey filament rather than black or brown?

Just a quick reminder,
I will be out at the Mid Essex show this coming weekend (gulp!!) with Trowland.
Please make yourselves known if you are there,
new victimsspare operators are always welcome😀Rob

I wish I was as good at finishing things as starting them.
Why should you be any different to the rest of us?😀

Thanks a bundle. :-)
As well as replacing all the tie bars and replacing the fiddle yard with a train table for one man operation, I am going to have to make it much wider and taller!
Trowland looks so much better in your photos.
Thank you for posting them here for us all to enjoy.

A terrific day - possibly the best ever.
I still have some shortbread to munch through as I check my photos.
Thanks everyone!
We can do mail order on the shortbread if you run out......

We both had a great time yesterday and learnt a lot about the layout in the process.😮
It was good to put faces to names (and vice versa!), didn't spend anywhere near as long enough looking around as I should have - never mind, I shall come back next year.
A very big thank you to Sheepbloke and his team for organising the day, it was the first time I had taken a layout to a show since about 1987 and it couldn't have been a better place to do it! 👍
Hope you all got home safe.

I noticed that the pasties appeared to be side crimped, making them more likely to be imports from over the Tamar.
Devon pasties are generally top crimped, though there are exceptions on both sides of the border,
cheers
Will have to check my Observers Book of Pasties, 3rd edition.

Trowland packed and ready to go.
Just hoping we can get there in time to nab a parking space.
Don't fancy lugging it halfway across Somerset in the wet......

Top stuff, Rob. Really looking forward to seeing this and finally meeting up.

I take absolutely no credit for Trowland apart from winning the scrum and elbowing my way to the front when Trevor said it was looking for a home.
It helped that most of the S Scale guys are older than me........🙃

Much Fettling in the Marsh.....
Having been out on tour with Blakey Rigg the Black Hawthorn is being re-acquainted with it's stablemates.
It does seem to have an issue with one of the connecting rods catching the motion plate at top dead centre and I'm not sure if I can pluck up the courage to tackle it today.
Hmm, spot of lunch first and have a think about it.
Otherwise, track cleaned, sundry scenic bits glued back on and all good to head (South) West on Sunday. 😎

The last "S Fest West" I went to was in LA pre Covid.

Excellent photos by Phil Parker, scribblings by me.
