  1. Thanks for the insight. I think I'll try and check the connection between the decoder and socket on the locos, and if that doesn't work I may need to look for replacements.
  2. I have ran into some issues with DCC programming some of my N gauge locos with the NCE Powercab system. Basically, every time I try to program the locos the powercab returns different information, including the decoder type, manufacturer and, more annoyingly, the address changes every time. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or similar experience? Thanks.
  3. Interesting to hear your experience- in my case the main problem is that I can’t ascertain an address with which to control these locos, because every time I try to change it it then changes to a different address. Would factory resetting the decoders work?
  4. Good morning all I have recently been trying to resurrect several locos and have encountered an issue. Each loco (Kato 3044, Fleischmann 731219, Graham Farish 371-386) has been responding when I have been programming it under programming mode, however each time the system gives me different information for the short address, long address, manufacturer info and decoder info. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I also have several other locomotives which have been successfully programmed and run well, leading me to think this could be an issue with the decoders. Any information, tips or advice would be much appreciated.
  5. You're quite right to point this out and yes, normally they would but the manufacturer has not printed curtains onto the model in any way, presumably because they have spent a lot of effort nailing the details inside(!) and want to put this on show. They are very thoroughly detailed, made by L.S. Models. If you want to take a look I've included a link to a website with some for sale in N. https://www.menzels-lokschuppen.de/index.php?cl=alist&searchparam=LS models&cnid=xlsearch&attrfilter[Baugr%C3%B6%C3%9Fe%2FMa%C3%9Fstab][Spurweite_N]=1&fnc=executefilter
  6. Hi everyone, I am looking to start a small project to upgrade my rake of 4 continental European sleeper coaches. I’d like to add lighting where possible and populate them, so I’d like to ask if anyone knows of any N gauge figures of people lying down, as well as some small luggage for the racks. For lighting I’m planning on using the train tech lighting kits, gaugemaster quotes these as £20 each so if anyone knows of any cheaper prices I’d much appreciate that info. If you’d like I can also add photos. Thanks! Lukas
  7. I’m very interested to see how this model plays out, of course I’ll be rooting for Revolution, especially with a much cheaper pre-order price and superior features. If you can go head to head with Dapol and win, Revolution will become a force to be reckoned with (More so than it already is) I may well place an order for one, and wish Revolution all the best.
  8. I'll ask the person I'm borrowing it from, it is a soldering iron that's been used for model railways, I have got in touch with Brawa to see what they advise, materials-wise. It is impractical for me to send the model to Brawa, due to high import and export costs between the UK and EU. No model shops are open right now so that avenue is closed. I will have to tentatively attempt to do it myself, unfortunately. I will have a second pair of hands to help me, and I am looking for suitable clamps/grips.
  9. Thanks. I'm arranging to borrow a soldering iron and snips from a family member who also models, I will try and get some practice in before soldering the decoder. I have found some Youtube tutorials and am building a list of recommended techniques etc. As always if I need help I will check back here.
  10. Oh, I hadn't noticed this. As you can probably tell I'm new to this, I may try and cancel the return and fit the DCC but I don't have a soldering iron. Will write back when I decide.
  11. I have already packed up the model to be returned, sorry. Brawa's diagram showed a blanking plug and socket, page 5 of the manual - https://www.brawa.de/fileadmin/Produkte/Bedienungsanleitungen_N/personenwagen/65142_Steuerwagen_Bybdtee_MAV.pdf However, my sample is the same as this but no socket, the blanking plate has been soldered directly to the PCB. I have already completed the eBay return of the item and it'll be making its way back to rails of Sheffield from tomorrow.
  12. Update: On checking a manual on Brawa's website it seems that the entire socket has been removed and a blanking plug soldered in its place. I will have to return the model as there is no way it will work with my digital layout.
  13. Hi everyone. At the start of the week I asked about a suitable decoder for a Brawa N gauge cab car. The cab car has now arrived and it appears the blanking plug is soldered to the socket? Brawa haven't provided any useful information in the manual, I have tried to program it just in case but it was clearly analogue so I have kept it off the track. Can anyone help me?
  14. WIMorrison and Steven B, thanks. Could you enclose a link to the NEM651? Thanks.
  15. Thanks. Is that a 'plug and play' decoder or hardwire as I am a novice in DCC conversion.
  16. Hi everyone. I am looking to purchase a Brawa n gauge cab car of the above description. The model has a NEM 651 Interface if that helps. Here is a link to its webpage on Brawa's website: https://www.brawa.de/en/products/n/wagons/passenger-coaches/65142-controlcar-bybdtee-mav/ Thanks in advance.
  17. They've sold out, I believe they are looking in to placing a larger order with the factory.
  18. I would be inclined to think it is one of Revolution's own products, as they have managed to shift both IPAs and KUAs recently - new wagon?
  19. If that's so, perhaps Revolution wouldn't want to do something a mainstream manufacturer could do with (Relative) ease - as they already have the 92 which can pull the sleeper mk 5s, and Dapol's 68 for the TPE coaches, so I would estimate something else. Perhaps a new Multiple unit now that the 320 is in production?
  20. Once again, another Revolution trains Facebook live broadcast will start on Tuesday the first of December 2020, and will bear news of a brand new N gauge model. This facebook live will bring news and announcements which conventionally would have been revealed at Warley.
  21. Revolution's fifth facebook live will be taking place Tonight at 7:30 PM, with the latest news on various projects -
  22. This is a PSA/discussion for the 4th Facebook live on Tuesday the 28th at 7PM. Topics covered will be: The latest news on the Class 92s and IPAs (Plus a first view of the blue groupeCAT quad) News on the next run of Pendolinos Deco samples of the OO gauge Ecofrets Deco samples of the class 320/321 Latest news on the Class A tank wagon and MTV ‘Zander’ stone wagon Plus answering any questions from the general community. (I’m not affiliated with Revolution in any way, however I wanted to make those interested aware in case they missed anything)
  23. Having seen the new groupeCAT blue livery, I was wondering if there was a picture of the model out there anywhere, or if it will be production samples only. If so, I would love to see one as I have changed my order to this. For those who don’t know, here is a drawing of the new livery. According to the website these were repainted just as the N gauge models went into production and an agreement with the factory was reached allowing 200 models of those to be added on with the co-operation of groupeCAT, who bought STVA. Thanks!
  24. Presumably! There are so many amazing aftermarket goods for all manner of models, such as the obliteration patches someone made for Revolution’s Cemex HOAs!
