Would like to add some magnetic couplings to my set, has anyone else tried this and can provide the recommended lengths to use between tram and coach and each coach please ?

I have a sound fitted Railmotor. At slow speed the motion is quite ‘jerky’, can anybody suggest cv changes that do not effect Inertia please ?

The maroon is spot on, compare it to the lights if it helps ? Mine arrived this morning and very happy with it. Just waiting on my sound fitted chocolate and cream version now !

I appreciate that detail is getting delicate and this is largely customer driven. The biggest problem for me with the 15xx has been running quality despite several repairs &/or replacements. There have been issues with assembly too, glue marks mainly and Rapido have been very good from a customer service point of view. I just hope that these issues don’t continue with future projects.

Unfortunately I feel the same re: quality and future ordering and would like Rapido to be more vocal in this respect assuring us customers of the steps being taken to insure this doesn’t happen again. As a steam modeller, Rapido are planning some superb models and I wish them every success.

Hi all, Can I ask should the gear train need lubricating whether you would recommend oil or grease please ? I generally use Labelle 106 (grease) & 107 (oil). Thanks.

Out of interest, has anyone carried out their own repairs to solve the ‘wobble’ ?

Hi Butler Henderson, Thanks for replying, I was referring to plans to tighten up QC at the factory responsible really, or whether they in fact have more than one factory. It must be just as, if not more frustrating for Rapido. At the end of the day though with more and more models selling out on pre-order it seems, we need confidence in the finished product. No disrespect intended to Rapido, it applies to more than one manufacturer. I’ll ask them directly. Thanks again.

Apologies if I have missed it on here, but it seems that Rapido do read and respond to questions. I just wondered whether they had made any statements regarding how these QC issues will be avoided in the future ? Rapido make some excellent announcements, several of which I have on pre-order. Cheers.

I’ve had two of these, and apart from the odd fixable part being loose in the box both are cosmetically fine. One is being returned due to very poor running performance. The other is ok when going forwards, but not when in reverse ! It’s not a deal breaker, just has me scratching my head 🤷‍♂️

Tip for anyone that has crooked cab shutters. Keep the loco in the clamshell and remove the outer sleeve only. This way a cotton bud can be placed under the plastic film while still being able to grip the model securely without damaging it. Don’t press too hard though ! Hope this helps. Btw… absolutely stunning model !

This is not noticeable from normal viewing distance and for me says more about the high standards that manufactures have set themselves that we pick up on such details. My particular model does not have a cab light permanently on whilst running on dc either as Heljan state in the paperwork, but would not be permanently on on the prototype in any case. As I say “I’m very pleased with my model”.
