  1. I have purchased many items from Colletts and the service is always first class, with update texts and emails from Leigh. Recently got some wagons from him and a few faulty ones had to be returned and again it was sorted very quickly and replacements sent out. Excellent as always.

  2. I have recently purchased the book and although i haven't fully read it yet, it is excellent. I agree with the previous comments about Bridgwater, photos and detailed captions about anything between Bristol and Taunton are always good to see. On the basis on this book I have now ordered 'Railways of the West of England in the 1980s' and 'Railways of the Western Region in the 1970s and 1980s' and although i model late 80s to 93ish, these books will be great for nostalgia as well as inspiration.

  3. My parcel arrived this morning, very well packed and has already been said, the wagon packaging is very neat. The wagons are superb and have certainly been worth the wait, top marks to Trains4U and Cavalex. These are my 2nd Cavalex product after the excellent BBA and i'm now looking forward to the PHA and CDA.

  4. These look fantastic but I'm looking for more info on these containers and operating periods. I model 1989-94 but not sure if these bulktainers were being moved by rail at that time. I know that IFF are an old company and that these containers had the writing in yellow and the United logo prior to this version and the whole container was grey before that. I think UBC were IBC previously so these livery versions may not be right for the early 90s. Again i'm not sure when the Bell ones first appeared but would buy some of all three if the right liveries are produced in the future.

I've a rake of 20 ARC wagons, how heavy are the loads? thinking 20 with loads mite be a bit heavy

I've 10 wagons but have not finished the last couple of loads to test yet but don't think it will be a problem. Each load is approx 40g out of the box and the ballast adds about 10g dependent on how much you add, one of mine is actually 55g. A loaded 20 wagon rake will certainly require some tractive effort but that's what Mendip stone trains are all about!

Wish the PTA loads were as undulating and as good as the PFA loads.

    PFAs look superb

I agree that the loads are a bit too flat and i wasn't too keen on the colour but i think they are great value and a ready made platform that can be improved. I added some Attwood Aggregates ballast that i already had and think it makes a vast improvement and really adds something to the superb ARC wagons.

  7. This layout is fantastic, I've seen some pictures on the PTA thread but i've only just found this and look forward to following progress. This is the era i model and just how i remember it when stopping for a look whilst on the way to Westbury. Unfortunately i didn't take many photos and these examples are not the best quality but are hopefully interesting anyway, taken 13th April 92.
