The Railway is facing unfair competition from the buses
Well the buses have been there for the past twenty years, the railway hasn't. These facts were known when the railway made the 'Wareham' decision.

Rapido have some work to do to convince people like me to buy more of their products.
The test will come when the Prairie arrives!

My home town station had a crossover between the platforms and a cut-out on one side to give clearance for the cylinder. Still there afaik.

Dinmore arrived today and it is a really stunning model - thank you Accurascale. I think the matt of the smokebox contrasts even more on the black loco than the green. This is my third Manor and first to arrive with coal moulding not fitted.

what speaker
I bought decoder and 'extra base' speaker from Road and Rails. Sounds fine. Have a look on R&R website and under Class 33 you will see what is recommended.
On a previous Class 33 I used the fuel tank for a speaker without any kit parts, just drilled some holes in bottom. That works fine too!

Mines fine. I don't understand pulling it apart trying to fix some obscure 'fault' - if it dosn't work send it back and help the manufacturer understand any issues.

Another here with a fine version
Looks superb! Is it my eyes, or does the colour emphasise the detail even more than the black versions?

I'm beginning to feel guilty that I have a good one! 🤣
Being in same camp as you with only minor/minor blemishes on 'my' two that you need magnifying specs to spot, I console myself that, as often the case, we hear about the problems but not the versions that are fine.

I'm assuming those with good running 15xxs are similarly stable?
I have two and both run very smoothly and "stable". Just as the Designer intended! The valve gear is mesmerizing!

Didn’t the original get stolen by metal thieves.
It did - but I dont think they were specialist metal thieves!
Hopefully this is a good facsimile!

OK - solved. Found some pics on Ebay that made sense of it all. It is a great product , clever design and well made, but why not a simple instruction sheet. It might have a Krypton factor of 1, but I wasted a good hour on a puzzle I didn't need!

from happy customers
My second one arrived today , fully intact and cosmetically perfect. Self evidently second one = superb model! Perhaps us happy bunnies need to just make a quick post to say so and ensure some balance. That said, I hope anyone with a issue gets it sorted.

Has anyone put together the kit to hold the levers? I emailed and asked for instructions and there aren't any as apparently it's straightforward. Well, not to me first time around! A pic would be great.
I did a search but could not find anything.
Thanks.

Even with the wobble, it runs silky smooth
It does indeed! The 'wobble' is interesting. as mine only shows this when it runs over a series of three points. So it maybe more sensitive than others to track condition - perhap compounded by weight of engine and short wheelbase.
