  1. I did preface what I was saying with the below as I know there were some who noticed it straight from the off.
  2. I think the primary issue for many of us that don't necessary know a 47 inside and out (or even a few who do but can see past the issues) is that a lot already have a recent Bachmann example. If we then were to go out and buy a Heljan 47 you wouldn't want to put them next to each other or your eye will notice something off, even at a bit of distance, arguably more the roof that anything else due to common perspectives. By itself it looks like a good class 47 from any reasonable distance but put a Bachmann 47 there and by comparison there's something not the same when there should be. People will therefore be somewhat inclined to stick with one example going forward and in many cases that will be the Bachmann example. Compare this situation with class 37's. I'd have much fewer reservations about mixing Bachmann and Accurascale 37's as the difference is really not noticeable IMO at much distance even if I do have a slight preference for the Accurascale rendition (with improved sound and no nose seam, finer chains, light dashboard). Those differences are not deal breakers if the right livery comes up on the right loco in the way that this 47 is for me.
  3. That is superb. Won't work for the APT for me but looks incredible for some projects I've got in mind.
  4. I don't think this would have enough poles (for what I want to do at least and is quite expensive though is certainly an interesting and nearly rtr option. Given me some ideas for some older Bachmann DMU's.
  5. Steam and the proper chimney fitted!
  6. Superb initiative and I hope others will follow.
  7. Thanks for the info that's great to know. When you know which connectors you plan to use let me know. I've been thinking either a JST type or a USB 3.0 Type A or Micro HDMI connector (as below) attached to the floor somehow and then a short cable between them with some form of corridor seal.
  8. A K2 or K4 would be most welcome or heck even a K1/1 or V4. Can't see a K1/1 as that's a one off even if that hasn't stopped a class 89 or CR123 in the past! V4 I could see in conjunction with the project to bring one back similar to the refreshed P2 model and 2007. The key thing based on speaking with Accurascale is that either one must really be in the flesh or decent drawings / extensive photos available. Anything which falls out of this will struggle to get past the sifting as it would be difficult to maintain accuracy with conviction.
  9. We're in the low season currently but can't wait for the catch up to happen so we get back to more regular releases. Even if I don't want it, the videos are always really well done and are the new benchmark for releases which only the Bachmann 47 release has come close to in recent years IMO.
  10. Looks quite good to me with the steam effect but it is a shame about the double chimney needing to be swapped. Anyone given it a try with the more accurate one in regardless?
  11. Jump a bump for this if it's possible as I'm just looking at options myself @zoomer1979
  12. I thought it was interesting how they talked about the rebuilt observation coach and shows images of it. I've said I'd love that at every show I've seen Hornby at since they announced these. Nice to see they are giving the interiors more than just a basic lick of paint. Now pre-ordered a full rake with Rails.
  13. Would be great to see this on the store though I appreciate it's not going to be a big money spinner to fund the future projects such as a 1980's 37/4's :p
  14. Unfortunately, I can't make that show. I think my next big one will be the new NEC show in November. No worries and thanks for the offer :)
  15. Ah right. It sounded like a wonderful scene. Obviously, it would be great to see it but no worries if it's a faff and you've got better things to crack on with. Totally understand the need for permission as well.
