  1. Thanks DCB. I'm only messing as I don't model realistically. In your top diagram what are the parts you are using to create the two track split please?
  2. Thanks Gents. Used SCARM but I did think there would be a way with the bits out of the box.
  3. Hi Say I have a loop of double parallel track going around in an oval. What parts do you use to get the outer track to crossover the inner so you have the two parallel tracks breaking off to another section if that makes sense. I use peco and electrofrog points. Thank you.
  4. Hi I managed to get the crossing to show using your suggestion and it works great. I now have a new problem. I ripped up that layout and built a new one and I thought I'd photographed the wiring so I could just rewire it on the new layout. Problem is the photos are useless and I've no idea how I wired it to work correctly. (The crossings switch fine with the Z21, its the wiring of the frogs I'm stuck at how I did it, ie the 4 wires coming out of the peco crossing) I'm using omega cobolt motors and a tam duel frog juicer which as I say worked correctly on the old layout. Has anyone by any chance a simple diagram or photos how to wire these up again. I know I'm an idiot. Thank You Eddie
  5. From Roco thank you for your interest in our products. We have received the following information from our specialist department. This element is not yet available for the app and will only be included in a future version. At the moment, a DKW (double slip turnout) can be used here - the stored addresses must then be deleted. We wish you continued enjoyment with your hobby - model railways. Kind regards Your Customer Service Team
  6. Thanks All I'll try the 2 lefts and rights when I get to building it. I'll also suggest it to Roco. Eddie
  7. Hi I have the scissors crossing which I managed to eventually get to work on an old layout. I now want to build a new one which will be controlled by a Z21 (black). Looking at the possible crossings on the Z21 control station I can't see how I would set up a scissors crossing. Has anyone got this set up and can the show me the icons I should use for the control station on Z21. (Pictures would be great as I'm thick) Thank You Eddie
  8. Thank you all Gents/Ladies. jamesd you are a star. Followed your instructions for manual and it worked...... Again thanks all from the biggest moron on the site. Eddie
  9. Thanks Gents, but I'm getting nothing at all from the programming. The Z21 light will go green (and on the top right of the control panel) but it will not read any cv or loco. It says there is no loco or cv for your selection. I know the loco is 5 as thats what it is assigned on the main screen and responds to the throttle and light functions no problem. But when i try it on the manual screen for loco 5 and any cv it says there is nothing there. Hopefully Roco will come back with a fix but I am not impressed with an item that costs £360 (probably more now) that can't just do its functions without having to ask other kind people to help. Thanks Eddie
  10. Hi I'm using the Z21 new app. I've written to Roco but hoped someone else had encountered the. I've tried the manual option and say selected cv2 but it doesnt return any value. I've got the app set up on android phone, a chromebook and two tablets which can all control the points, signals and locos fine. My other layout uses NCE powercab which works fine at programming the cvs. I've tried using manual set up but the read cv doesnt do anything . Strange as when i set up the loco addresses and points/signals screens it accepted them fine. Thank you for your kind help. Eddie
  11. Hi I've had it a year and locos, signals and points all work fine using it. I decided to change some of the cvs (speed, etc) so put a loco (several) on the programming track and the light went green but it will not read any cv. The circle spins for a couple of minutes but says cant find loco. I tried POM and the same it cannot see anything. I have an NCE powercab on the other layout and that works fine programming anything. Can anyone point me how to get the CV function to work as it should. I'm at a loss as why it wont work as it is fine at controlling the locos for running. An example a loco is set up and controlled on address 5 on the main screen but when I put the loco on programming, address 5 it does not see anything. Firmware version 1.42 Hardware version Z21b Thanks Eddie
  12. Many thanks. Will give it a go once I've got it.
  13. Many Thanks John. It's N scale. So looks OK. Do you happen to know if there is an output I can use on the AD-8fx to turn on and off the lights? I'm thinking maybe if I plug into the LED output on one side? Eddie
  14. Good afternoon All I'm in the process of purchasing the above items and was wondering if you could help with a few questions concerning the set up. I at present use Cobalt Omega motors with DPDT switches to change points and works fine. With the above I will wire the Omegas to the AD-8fx to control switching as per the instructions, however how do you switch two points at once like when you cross over between two parallel lines. Do I have to give the points two separate addresses and use the Z21route planner to do it or can I wire both motors to the same port on the AD-8fx and throw them at the same time (also is there a way to show this on the Z21 track plan when this happens when you click it to throw the point if that makes sense). I've been kindly helped by the gents at DCC Concepts that I can operate 2 aspect LEDS signals using the LED port. Does any of the outputs allow simple on/off for street/house lights that at present run of 12v with resistors fitted. At present I use separate power supplies and DPDT switches for this but is this possible using the above items together. Will all the AD-8fx (5 on order) have to be connected to the Z21 bus wire for the track and if so is there enough power to run say 10 locos, 13 points, 25 signals, 30 odd house/street lights at the same time. If you could give me any more tips it would be appreciated. Thank You Eddie
