Well, as it forms a core part of our corporate approach to modelling, and the way we want to portray our brands, then yes, absolutely.

Totally agree! Leave the packaging (size style etc.) as it is please. The Accurascale packaging is one of the many attractions that sets them apart from other manufacturers. Absolute top quality!

Just seen the box for my Rails exclusive DB Red Class 92 that I've ordered. Bloody lovely!

Don't change the packaging style. Thank you

I am guessing there's more to be announced before long?

There aren't many items that are announced that are not due in the next few months:

    The banana van

    FNA-D

    Mk1 suburbans

    Class 31

The list of stuff due in the next few months (Q4 2022 on the projects page) is quite large however:

    Class 37

    Class 92

    Manor

    Mk5s

    Siphon G

Remainder of MHAs and MGR wagons

    Mk2b

So I reckon there are some announcements soon for stuff coming in the middle of next year before long, otherwise there won't be much for AS to sell!

Through no fault of Accurascale and to ensure us customers continue to receive the highest quality products possible that we have become use to, I would staggered if they manage to deliver all the products still down for Q4-2022. With two and a half months left I just don't see it and it wouldn't surprise me if some roll over into Q1-2023. I'm not complaining as it would allow me more time to save more pennies for everything I have on order.

IMO I think we will see the following delivered in this current year :

MHAs and remaining MGR wagons (already in transit)

    MK5 Caledonian Sleepers

    Class 92s

    Class 37s Batch 1

I reckon the TPE Mk5s, Manors, Class 37 Batch 2 and Mk2b Coaches will roll over into next year. It's an awful lot to expect them to deliver by the end of the year.  According to the Autumn catalogue the Siphon Gs are due Q1-2023 anyway.

I'm confident and hopeful of new announcements at Warley.

  4. My monies on a Steam loco, or 'big' as in an 'O' gauge item of some description?

With the announcement of the Class 31 back in Feb and March this year and with an expected announcement probably in the new few months of a second production run for the Class 37, I doubt it will be a diesel or electric loco. Would love it to be a Class 50, HST Power cars or a DMU, but I'm not going to bet on any of those this year. God I hope I'm wrong!

  5. Have now received St Paddy, Black Watch & Ballymoss, the last two with sound.

Sorry to disappoint but I've got nothing but praise for the product. No parts have fallen off any of my locos. All run as smooth as silk and the two with sound? well I'm not a sound expert of model locos by any stretch, but when i started the locos sound up... unbelievable. I was transported back to Kings Cross in the 70s/80s.   Even my daughter who works from home and was in the next room, rushed in and said 'what the hell is that racket??!!' kids aye....

Two Rails exclusives still to come and fingers crossed they arrive in the same beautiful condition as my first three. I'm actually really tempted to see next week what deltic leftovers there are, once you've dispatched all your pre-orders...

Anyway, Congratulations to all at A/S. So glad I joined the A/S party early, back in 2019! I knew there was something refreshing about you lot. You really have raised the bar.

Really excited for my ordered Class 92s & Class 37s. Now Class 31s... decisions decisions...

  6. Received my first of five Deltics today, 55 001 St Paddy.

Magnificent model and thankfully all bits intact and runs smooth as silk including on R2 track. I just wish I had got it with sound. Fingers crossed for the other four Deltics I've ordered (Ballymoss, Tulyar, The Black Watch & 1980 KOYLI all with sound) arriving in the same beautiful condition.

At 6:00pm on Thursday August 9th, 2018, following an announcement on here and having bought some IRM models, I attended a presentation by Fran at The Model Railway Club in London (of which I'm not a member) to introduce IRM/Accurascale to the UK market.

Three or four of the attendees were RM Web members (adb968008 was one of them), the rest of the attendees were MRC club members. I thought the atmosphere at the meeting was rather chilly and got the feeling that IRM/Accurascale would be facing quite a task to break into the UK market.

The presentation ended with a video outlining the aims of IRM/Accurascale and details of the first models to be introduced to the UK market. In the closing seconds of the video a Deltic suddenly appeared on the screen but Fran did not pass any comments........

....... and then three months later on November 21st, 2018 Accurascale announced the launch of the Cl.55 Deltic at the Warley exhibition.

On Wednesday November 24th, 2018  I ordered my Deltic having in the meantime already ordered the HUO, PCV and PCA wagons. Think I was already hooked on Accurascale!!

    Keith

Wow thats impressive! And i thought I was early to the party in 2019!

  8. Does anybody else have the same problems with Locomotion models?

They requested outstanding balance for my Deltic. Happy to pay it but payment wasn't going through for some reason. So tried calling them to pay over the phone. If you ring them it immediatley goes to some weird music. No message from them, no nothing. Have called the NRM helpdesk. Two very helpful ladies passed three messages to a guy called Stewart who works in the shop to call me back and conclude the transaction. Nobody has called. I've left an email via their 'contact us' on website. Nothing.. Not a dicky bird...

Are they normally this appallingly bad??

  9. I don't think it will be a motorised vehicle. Whilst the Deltics have arrived, I think the lads have got their hands full with the Class 92s, Manors, Class 37s and Class 31s still to deliver. Maybe a new loco/multiple unit at Warley in November?

For Monday, my moneys on a new freight wagon, or a Mark 2c coach, or coaches that perhaps the Manors hauled in their early years...

Whatever, its always exciting when Accurascale have a new announcement...

They've been on the seas since April 8th, 36 days ago, it takes about a month to two months for a ship to get from China to the UK, so by that simple reckoning I'd say its perhaps in the channel, if not in a queue somewhere. Fran says about two weeks and those estimates are generally reliable

As its Mid May now, I reckon allowing for what time is left on the high seas, queuing at docks, customs, travel to A/S HQ, sorting and dispatchng to customers etc etc, realistically i think the first boxes will land on customers doorsteps early June...

Fran/Stephen - Do the Railsofsheffields/Locomotion/DPS exclusive models go directly to them or do they all come via A/S HQ for sorting?

Don't forget that Accurascale has probably not produced the same number of each model. They may also have given themselves some scope to change liveries on the same tooling combinations depending on early pre-orders before specfic numbers of each version were locked in with the factory, to better reflect what they expected to be demand.

The purple monstrosity has the WIPAC lights and so is unique in the first run so any underestimation of demand couldn't be countered by increasing the production run.

Who knows if any of this supposition is correct - and I wouldn't expect Accurascale to tell us - but I don't necessarily think that overall demand for each livery variant can be judged on which are sold out and which not.

Commercial logic would suggest that once the first production run has sold out, they swap the numbers and liveries around to keep the next production run(s) unique and going. After all there are only 22 Deltics to play with but as they have shown, plenty of livery variations to work with..., if its commercially viable.
