I have looked through the various topics on B Sets but I cannot find and answer to this question 'Did any B Sets operate in unlined maroon'? I am interested in the 1955 - 65 period. I have seen pictures of them in unlined crimson but have not found any in unlined maroon.

The date on the General Arrangement is 1927, many of the detail drawings were also used on a build for the Manchester Electricity Department.

I am thinking about using the chassis off a Dapol Class 73 on a Class 23 body that I have made. I appreciate that it will not be 100% accurate but I would like to know the wheelbase dimensions of the bogie and between bogie centres if anybody can help me. I have a Hornby model and I was wondering if the Dapol model was the same as I think tis will be a better motor etc.

I checked an original drawing at the HMRS Study Centre today and it identifies the filler pipe as 1ins Bore BSP Steel.

The HMRS has a General Arrangement, Cross Section and Diagram drawings for this locomotive. If you are interested in obtaining copies then please contact me on drawing-archivist@hmrs.org.uk and I can supply you with further details. Also I have been advised by our LBSCR Steward that there is information in a book by J N Maskelyne - "Locomotives I have known" - page 20

I used double sided tape to stick plasticard paving slabs to card for platforms on my layout in the garage but I have found when it gets hot the plasticard wants to curl and therefore lifts away from the card.

The HMRS has a large amount of timetables and archive material at the Museum & Study Centre, an email to the archivist on archivist@hmrs.org.uk with the information you are looking for may pay dividends.

Are you sure this is a Quad-Art set, I have researched these vehicles as I am building a kit and the numbers you quote and show on the photographs do not appear in the spreadsheet I have created, I wonder it may be a Quint-Art set but I do not have access to the information at the moment. If nobody comes up with an answer by Wednesday I will look in the library at the HMRS Museum & Study Centre and see what I can find.

I fitted Pete Goss figures in my 1960's DMU's. They come painted and unpainted, they also have their legs amputated so no work to do in that department.
