  1. Hi Cav,

BOT is looking very good.  You've added some nice 'every-day' details which make it really stand out.  What did you use for the platform retaining walls as they look superb?

Now you've got a bit of momentum it would be nice to see you make quite a bit of progress with the build.

    Cheers

  2. Hi Rod,

The 08 seems very much at home on WKT and Steve has done a top job with the Railtec numbers.  I think they look absolutely spot on!

It's been said before but credit where credit is due - the houses forming the backdrop are absolutely superb.  Once bedded in you will have a layout that must surely be worthy of an appearance in one of the Model Rail mags, or in the Guild mag.  Your last set of pictures show your high standard of modelling skills.

Please keep us up to date with the developments as it's always good to see WKT updates.

    Cheers

  3. Thanks Lee, I'm going to number it D270 like I did my 4mm version as it was one of the first to be painted in br blue in early 67, thanks for heads up regarding the handles to :)

    Hi Paul,

It looks like you'll need to cut the extra headboard brackets from the nose doors then:

But at least you don't need to remove one set of double arrows!!

  4. Sorry, missed this one. Feck, what a beast of a picture!! Never noticed that with the cab vents. Another addition to the to do list  :scared:

Also just noticed the horizontally mounted air horn covers....so many variations!

If you look underneath the body where the boiler water tank is you'll spot the engine bay drain pipework that was fitted to the Haymarket 40's.. yet another bit to add :D

  5. It's called Modelmates and comes in a little plastic jar like Acrylic paints do. The interior of the shock open you can see the ends are a bit lighter which is Rusty Red. The darker is Rust Effect. You can mix a bit of both together on the wagon to get effect.

Thanks for the quick reply Brian.

Those Modelmates look like something to try... you've certainly made a good job on the van/ wagon ends  :good:

  6. Hello Lee, Thanks for the kind words, l have lost a little mojo that's very true, but l think its direction more than mojo as l love everything in O gauge, trouble is the more you make and buy the more room you need, but at the end of the day its the steam era l love most, the 08 was a whim at the time and is fitted with a decent sound chip (thanks Andy) and was bought for a future project l have planned which will need a class 33, 37 and a 47 all sound fitted to go on a little depot l have in my head ?....

    Hi George,

You're welcome.  Maybe a deviation in the modelling era isn't a bad thing and I guess with Christmas upon us, maybe taking a bit of time out is a good thing too.  Whatever you do I'm sure it will be appreciated here by those that read your thread.

I'll certainly look forward to seeing diesels running amidst a depot :)

    Cheers

  7. Hi George,

I really hope that you manage to re-kindle your interest again... having just re-numbered your 08 I thought you'd be on a bit of a roll and would have started laying some track to run it on.

Your thread is great to watch with loads of superb builds and I'm sure you're an inspiration to many on here.

    Cheers

  8. Hi Al,

I have only just found this thread and have spent the last hour or so reading through it in its entirety.  My only comment echoes those made already.... wow, what a stunning example of exemplary modelling.

I'm sorry to hear of the problems that you had at Warley but I am sure that the majority of the visitors viewing your model were so bowled over by the enormity of Remagen that they will not have noticed, nor cared, about any technical glitches.

An utterly brilliant thread.  Thanks for posting and keeping us up to date with your progress.

    Cheers

She is going back in the works for a much needed tidy up now though  :O

Phwoah!!  1015 sounds good, was that recorded at Blaunau Ffestiniog or on the SVR Phil??

What's to tidy on Western Prince... looks excellent to me  :good:

    Thanks for posting the vid.

    Cheers
