once you have weathered the Hornby one to the standard of the TT100 one and got rid of the 'plastic' look it will look sensational I am sure. The cranks and conrods could be made to look so much better for a start.

this stripped back chassis at Didcot of the G22 clearly shows the Vacuum cylinder which would only be visible in service viewed from low down and from one end only.

The second confusion is allowing Hydras into passenger trains at all, since they were not vacuum fitted
Miss Prism stated the above but Didcot Railway Centre begs to differ. Lifted from their website
QuoteUnlike 'Loriots' (see 42271) they were fitted with vacuum brakes and intended for use as part of passenger trains.
more confusion?

QuoteAs I said, when chipped it just has to be told to run backwards to put number 1 end at the front.
dumb question perhaps but is the body reversible or would that mean the chassis would be wrong way round?

you need an Ac supply for the Faller motor. Usually the spare 16V outlet on most controllers is ideal

the Nearest Tomytec chassis is the TM-21 but unfortunately is currently out of stock.

I ordered some spare couplers thinking they would be assembled.
they should be assembled no matter what the brand, be it Roco, Hornby or Arnold (can't speak for Tillig). Yours must have been shaken up badly in transit (easily done I expect). The ones we use in our TT120 kits come to us in bulk via Peco.

a while bach Moawkward stated I’ve got several of the Osbourne 😒(No'E' please) kits in my to buy list - I’ve got an L&Y kit too from a brand new small manufacturer. Don’t think anyone’s posted about them on here - they exist though and they’re making new kits to boot. I really don’t understand what point you’re trying to make… or why. If you can’t see TT content, that’s probably because you’re not looking for it in the right places.
I have built a small diorama just to display various TT items that we manufacture. In this picture for example everything in shot is made by us and is available right now )except the signals which were just for show). The track is Peco.

Andy stated
I'd be surprised given how much chatter there was in the trade for 3-4 years before the announcement that Hornby were going deep into it.
does anybody really think Peco would have developed any of their TT 120 range not knowing that already in the pipeline there was UK motive power planned (Peco do not normally develop locos with a couple of historical exceptions apart from the Kato Small and Large Englands).
Now if Peco and Kato were to jointly develop a TT120 loco that would be fantastic but I don't have much hope. However we are surely heading into the era of joint cooperation between manufacturers going forward. Just my prediction

I am getting a bit tired of reading these circular, negative TT :120 comments. We were trading at the Bristol show last weekend and had a good selection of TT:120 from numerous manufacturers on sale and display including our own kits and figures, (there are plenty out there as well as Hornby). https://www.osbornsmodels.com/tt-scale-1120-438-c.asp
I have to say there were many people looking, asking, showing interest and yes buying. We should have had more Hornby but that was down to us not ordering enough or being able to get hold of enough.
Will all those not interested in TT:120 give it a rest please and move on to something they are interested in.
Rant over.

it is simply easier to divide a measurement by 100 if you're making a model, which is nice for TT100 but it isn't an insurmountable problem in other scales.
Do you think so when virtually all the available drawings are in feet and inches!! I don't find it easy when I then have to convert to mm. Not that difficult but certainly not 'easy'

You can pre-order a Veismann starter set at Rails:
or you could order it now. The r.r.p. is £250 so less 15% is more like £212 so someone is being optimistic with their pricing!!

any TT120 going to be there or is that a bit too radical yet?

Kader also manufacture model railway products for other independent (from Kader) companies based in the US and the UK but do we know what brands they are and how significant is that share of the group turnover?

Certainly looks different in the video

It wasn't my first exhibition, (that was at the Central Halls Westminster ), but can anybody remember the Finescale exhibition put on by MRJ? The queues around the block were the longest I have ever seen or experienced, but it was a he** of a good show with Horley as the standout layout.

2. The information from Hornby was correct at the time, but the policy had changed either before or was changed after that, meaning that both are right: i.e. different information was given to different retailers at different times.
is probably the answer why Colin's model shops info. was out of date. It is true that the initial offer to selected retailers did expect the full range to be stocked and a demo layout installed. Obviously that was unrealistic in most already cramped model shops and somewhere along the line the policy was quietly changed. We have obtained items of rolling stock but availability is restricted by what is available in the warehouse at any one time and that includes Arnold items which sell through very quickly as well it seems.
Hope that clears things up.

That is interesting, I was talking to a Model Shop owner and he was saying he was offered TT120 to sell but he had to buy the whole of the range. He said he could shift a few items but not the lot.
not correct.
