More weathering during todays visit to Coleborne, plus a bus shelter for the Wimhill beach visiters plus a few seagulls, attracted by the chip shop probably.

    BUT FIRST.

What can I say. £ 210 .00 from Model Railway Solutions. Poole. I believe this is probably the best price in the country. Incredible model.

My class 45 did find room in the queue at the spray booth today. Pictures tomorrow.

WOW, That's a good price, I think I shall have to investigate further, Its alder Road Poole is it Brian!! What a fantastic piece of kit.

  2. This weeks Coleborne visit followed the pattern of the last couple of weeks. Bridge building and ballasting. I'm sure these visits are the fastest few hours of each week, arrive, ballast and glue, two cups of tea, ( new kettle ) and time for home. Nicks bridge is coming along very well as I hope the picture shows.

Bridge looks very good, but will it survive the demolition gang !!!!! Knowledge from a recent visit.  Wait and see??

  3. Hi Scott, points are now layed, wired and operational. All turnouts so far on the layout are fitted with Peco solenoid motors operated by switches on the panels, storage sidings having their own small panel. With this crossover I just did not want the bother of fitting a new switch to the panel with all the associated wires etc. that go with it. Instead I have opted for using the Gaugemaster PM10D motors which are DCC ready, each complete with built in capacitor discharge unit. The decoder can be removed and fitted along side the motor allowing fitting under the baseboard with the extension pin through a 10mm hole. A short connecting cable is supplied for this purpose. With just two wires to the BUS and screws suplied for the motor bracket these must rate as the easiest motors I have ever fitted.

Whilst fittng these, I realised that another point could be fitted off the track to road 1. ( Extreme left on picture on edge of board )  This will be just a track running far enough to store a couple of loco's and unlikely to be motorised although I will drill a 10mm hole just in case.

You are soon going to need a bigger shed !! But the crossover looks good.

  4. Was at Brampton Road recently and saw the Un-couplers in action. Very impressive and so quiet. Oh well that's ANOTHER job to do on my layout.

Seriously though Wireman has done a brilliant job with both This layout and Coleborne Junction. Well done.

  5. Layout is coming along well and have enjoyed all the posts. Will wait now for the Wimhill portion to proceed. Maybe a GWR Diesel Railcar to run up to Wimhill or even a wandering Thumper Unit eh Nick with sound would be fantastic.? All the detail is fantastic and when the signals are complete they will add atmosphere.    Pooleboy

  6. Looks a very interesting layout and as Scott says room for shunting which is always good. Do like the Station and Engine shed. Look forward to the next lot of Photo's. Poole Boy.

  7. Well the station is coming along and the lights and seats were fitted on the last visit. Pleasure to operate and track is smooth

Looks good with the weathered stock and cab crew. A lot of hard work is being done and next I think its back to the Turntable

motor and drive. Job to get the drive not to slightly shudder but we will get there. Pooleboy
