For me, Intercity 125, the whole train though, for me these are the only manufacturer who can produce the ultimate product…

You have my attention/curiosity, but alas I am not familiar with the work (nor, it seems is Google/Amazon, so I am not being lazy!); could you please direct me?
best,
Marcus

I had planned to but I just sat and looked at it as it was and couldn’t bring myself to tear up that chassis, so the current plan is to start again with the Comet chassis set. I know Dave Bradwell also produces one, but experience of his products has me shy of the (perhaps unnecessary) complications, whereas a similar conversion of a Coronation left me very happy with the Comet solution. Now I have a P4 and original chassis, an approach I intend for my 9f too.
Anyone else built a new chassis - stories of the Bradwell one especially? If theres a separate chat on this subject, please pack me off in that direction!
best,
Marcus
Marcus,
Have a look at Worseter about page 15ish Bradwell, wheels etc outstanding, hope this helps.

Assuming you are aiming for the 1980s-90s, I suggest you look at the Bishop Auckland branch. This is still open to passenger trains and the extension to Wearhead was open for freight in your period. My 1980 Baker shows several freight terminals along the Wearhead line but I suspect most closed within a few years, apart from the cement works at Eastgate. Shildon Works was open until the mid 80s.
I'd suggest a station between Darlington and Bishop Auckland, perhaps with a a fictitious freight customer for interest. Passenger would be mostly DMUs, with the travails of Sprinterisation providing a reason for loco-hauled substitution from time to time.
Hi Simon,The above is a very good shout indeed, with a bit of modellers license the old diversion line to Durham could be still be open, for the odd Hst or loco hauled train...

Hi Craig,
Can you clarify what era your are aiming for, please?
(Bearing in mind that small through stations generally get less interesting the closer they get to the present day...
)
