Just now, Roy Langridge said:
International vehicles cleared for UK loading gauge.

Cheers Roy!

Apologies if this has already been answered but what does the anchor symbol denote?

They look stunning!
I did see a photo online, just can't remember where, of 3 carriers plus the 4 Mk1 day carriages making a realistic formation more affordable for folk.

Thank you Rapido! One class I have always wanted as it is right at the other end of the spectrum to the Pacifics.
If you ever do a late crest fictitious livery I'd get one of those

My twe cents is that I would rather pay £220 for a limited edition model of an interesting or unique prototype with museum model quality livery and detail than pay over £250 for models in a manufacturers standard range with awful quality control issues etc.
I preordered the late British Railways version. I love how old liveries like the NER green was applied in the last days before the corporate image came in

Oh wow! I hope these do well as there's a couple of local Northern Irish units or diesel locomotives I'd order with hesitation

I received Nimbus today. Absolutely stunning! Couple of steps came away but will glue them back on when I get to run her in.
Thank you guys for an absolutely beautiful and amazing model!

Mine arrived today too. Looks wonderful. Is there meant to be any instruction sheets because I've nothing in the box to show me how to fit a dcc chip?

Got an email to say mine is on the way. Really looking forward to having it in the collection. A rare and intriguing piece of railway history in model form

Caved in and ordered one!
Side note, really hope the NIR Hunslets are on your radar fellas! I'm doing loads of overtime so I can order a full set of NIR Mk2s

When a green version with small yellow panels gets announced you'll definitely get an order from me!
Fantastic news!

The fact that SK said he wanted their Black 5 to be the definitive model of the class proves the work that the Accurascale and IRM team are doing to provide highly detailed, high spec models at an affordable price point while engaging with their customers throughout is having an effect on other manufacturers in the industry

They are probably my favourite class of steam locomotives and machines Rob.
Also reading of your experiences I decided to order Empire of India from TMC.

I may have had a moment of madness and pre-ordered one of The Coronation A4s

As beautiful as the original Hush Hush is nothing beats the A4 shape for beauty.
Breathtaking, I might suggest to Hornby they release it in LNER green

What with the A2s last year and the W1 in recent weeks I won't pre-order Hornby products any more.
I would love a full rake of Coronation stock but will wait until they are released. I may miss out but I can live with that.

Thanks for the clarification Tony!
I hadn't realised many modifications were made to the stock other than the skirtings being removed, well one can dream we'll get BR era streamlined stock too
-
I do believe a pair of streamlined carriages made their way to Scotland in BR days and had a carriage, maybe a Thompson, inserted between them. From what I recall of the photo I saw the neat little train was hauled by a Scottish D11.
Hopefully if these sell well Hornby may look at The Silver Jubilee stock and perhaps modify the tooling for BR days.
*Just looked, the Fife Coast Express was made up using Silver Jubilee stock. Also discovered that some carriages lasted until 1964 at least

Been reading up on The Coronation, luckily you don't need an A4 to haul it, A1s, A3s and even an N2 all covered for failures as did non Coronation themed A4s.
I personally hope that their development will lead to BR liveried ones too and the rebuilt beaver tail as they have a broader use and geographical range.
I'm not sure if The West Riding service used the same formation as The Coronation, if so then there's further mileage out of the tooling.
I did read externally the carriages were similar to The Silver Jubilee but that the composition was different to the other streamliners so unsure if the tooling can be used for it.

Love seeing the Coronation A4s making an appearance, just wish they'd correct the chrome beading on the tender so it's correctly in line with the locomotive. But I already have 3 LNER A4s so will probably go for the BR one instead.

Thank you Hornby for the Coronation stock!
Will follow their development with considerable interest.

Er, I’m happy with my Bachmann Peps although an A2/1 would be welcome. I’m with you on the B17/5 and D49. The Railroad standard D49 could do with variations in the valve gear – for preference something rather better than the plastic on Duke of Gloucester for the Lenz. Better yet, something not done before. There’s no shortage of choice without having to produce obscure types.
The Bachmann A1 and A2 were good back in the day and still hold their own but I think Peppercorn's masterpieces could do with a new take on them

I think it was mentioned in November's Engine Shed we'd not be getting another until announcement day

Hornby 2023 - New tooling - Streamlined B17/5

Very much on my wishlist, and made sense due to Hornby already having the chassis.
I already have two B17s so a third couldn't hurt!
Thanks Margate!
