And yes, on britishfinescale.com concrete sleeper track is available as kit. This will build into flexi track

specifies 1 ounce (28.3 g) initial weight + 1/2 ounce (14 g) per inch of wagon body length for H0 scale. So with approximately 250 mm length for the TEA the weight would be about 168 g (28 g + (10 * 14 g), give or take.

I think that is the problem for Farish - they could do their STVA car carriers in N (and the OO models are superb) but they are worried that the market would flinch at the inevitable prices. This is the big problem we are going to have over the coming years I think as the market resets itself, and we aren't going to like it. If you consider the prices of European wagons then that is where we are headed.

My observation is that with the current GBP to EUR exchange rate of 1.38 to 1.43 the N-gauge TEA has drawn level if not overtaken, depending on which day you check with prices between 35 to 39 EUR for a single wagon. From my perspective there is no more heading to the mythical European price, British rolling stock prices are going to find it's own limit.  

Hight differences can be solved in two ways, either lower the higher or get the smaller higher. Wheelchairs could be an issue, not only because of the hight but more for getting around, though I'm optimistic there are ways to involve wheelchair users.

Me too. I recently received the SPROG II and have no problems to use it with JMRI DecoderPro on a MacBook. Very useful device.

Do you intend to build the track yourself or to use Peco or the like?

it's a nice and interesting area that you want to model. Looks like you want to enjoy watching trains running through landscape. I don't know if austrian and swiss locos were allowed on german tracks in the seventies and eighties, but today they are. But austrian and swiss coaches could probably be added to express trains which should add interest for spotters. I would expect a lot of international goods traffic running through this station as well. Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland and Italy aren't far away.

Regarding your track plan, my first thought was, there are to many platforms. Stations with fife platform faces are usually junctions and have more sidings for goods traffic as well. See Marktredwitz (1987) at www.sporenplan.nl . Would it be possible to drop the platform near the goods area and make the tracks additional goods loops to take goods trains aside? With additional opposed crossovers at each end of the station regional trains could use the bidirectional top platform. Just my thoughts.

The N Gauge Society can't deliever OTA kits from Chivers Finelines, I've ordered, because they "ceased trading in N Gauge and their kits are no longer available."

Actually chivers announced this in old rmweb3, as a search revealed. But I'm not aware of any other producer of OTA kits or models. This leads to my question:

Is there a producer for models or kits of OTA timber wagons in N scale?
