  1. Thanks for responding, I should have been clearer, my question is whether or not the blue grey livery mk2c had ScotRail or Intercity lettering.
  2. A quick question which may end up in a long answer. Did the Mk2c TSO(T) coaches have ScotRail or Intercity branding. I can't tell from a couple of you tube videos / Flickr images i've looked at. If it was ScotRail, the question then will be how easy will it be to remove the Intercity on the Accurascale models to replace with ScotRail. Only time will tell.
  3. An excellent video, part of a really interesting set. Check out the train at 3:03, great excuse to buy up reduced BSOs when manufacturers make too many and the TSOs go out of stock. Another useful video is below. I think there are a couple filmed at Larbert which I will try to find, although they are late 80s rather mid 80s. You'd just have to watch out for Aberdeen bound services, as in the one on the thumbnail. At Perth in tbe 80s, Aberdeen or Dundee services used the curved platforms, Inverness services the straight platforms.
  4. I am looking to renumber some of my Bachmann maroon liveried MK1 coaches and was going to use Fox Transfers. Mostly to renumber them to an Sc rake. I see they offer them in a number of different shades, off white, gold, metallic gold, yellow and possibly straw. I think the yellow is for Southern Region, but the others mention maroon. There is a comment on some of them: "There seems to be a certain amount of disagreement regarding the actual colours of lettering, numbering and lining on these liveries and so to cover all eventualities we produce the full range of shades for each purpose." I was wondering if anyone could confirm which colour is closest to the colour used by Bachmann on their maroon liveried Mk1s?
  5. The weather held for a fun time at the Saturday evening BBQ organised by the club fir exhibitors. A BBQ, a bar, and train rides on our miniature railway set in woodland at our Wester Pickston site just outside Perth. If you are exhibiting next year be sure to sign up for the Saturday night event.
  6. Yip, it always gets hot in the halls, even with the doors open. One of our younger and presumably more enterprising members was planning on popping across to Aldi and Lidl to buy up all their ice lollies and then selling them at the back door for an extortionate price!
  7. Thanks for you kind comments. A really busy day yesterday, it never ceases to amaze me how an ice rink can be so warm! Was great to a big que of folks eager to get in and our two American layouts seem to have performed well on their first outing.
  8. On Saturday parking charges will apply. 16. Hope you can make it this year. I've checked back our records and think the only excuse you have left is the dog ate my advanced ticket!😉
  17. Looking forward to seeing you again, always up for unloading an 80s layout no matter the size.
  18. Don't worry with our new two day tickets you can make up for lost time!
  19. Oh well, after many years I no need to keep checking this page for the latest update on the ScotRail Mk2z, the single coach pack and the twin pack have arrived, the single coach after many years, the twin after only a few months. Really pleased with them, but wasn't expecting the free "gift" with the twin pack. I didn't realise Bachmann had a link with Modelu. Thanks for keeping us updated over the years, it was appreciated.

  22. According to the SDEG's recent book Scotland’s Diesel Fleet in Detail, ScotRail Express there were 5 TSOs from the original pool. 5146, 5152, 5153, 5176 and 5197 brought back for push pull operation. All painted into ScotRail. There were also 2 FKs 13411 and 13424 brought back of which 13424 was painted into ScotRail.
  23. Doesn't look like it according to Charlie on the thread over on Realtrack.
  24. The ScotRrail coach pack was a nice surprise. Coach pack numbers 5197 and 5162. 9
  25. Was just watching the video about removing weathering and posted a comment on YouTube. I couldn't upload a picture of the before and after so have copied the comment here. Thanks for another really useful video which got me thinking about a ScotRail BG coach I bought second hand which was apparently professionally weathered. I felt it was too dirty. I'd has a go a few years back with 70% IPA which had little impact, this time I went for 99.9% IPA. Much better results. I did them give it a clean with soapy water to remove any left over IPA. Totally agree with your advice on checking prototypes, whilst some MK BG were manky, those in passenger rakes such as my ScotRail one would have been a bit cleaner as they would have gone through the carriage cleaner with the other passenger coaches in the rake I suspect.
