  2. I fear that those "alledgedly" doing an asset sale may not be genuine.

For myself, after a medical problem earler this year, disposal of my stock will dealt with by an enthusiast ¬!

And most will have the "Shirt Button".

  3. The Coach of the Nigerian Football Team was so disappointed at the Teams performance that he has offered to refund all costs, airfares, accomodation etc. to anybody who went to South Africa to watch them.

All he needs now are your bank details.

  4. Following DonB above - Warrented True !!!

Many Years ago I needed some plastic curtin rail to build a model Bridge - So I toddled down to the local Woolworths in a Kentish Coastal Town.

"How much is that a foot ?"

"Oh we don't sell it in feet" quoth the shop assistant.

"OK, well how much is that a yard ?"

"Oh we don't sell it in yards"

"Well what do you sell it in ? "

"We sell it in 3 foot lengths !"

    I gave up.

  5. Well we are on the "What if" trail again. One I will throw in for discusion in the USATC S160.

What if say the GWR had purchased 50 or so in 1945/6

Modified, much as the ex ROD locos had been, I see no reason why these could not have worked on main and secondry lines.

With, of course, a Copper capped Chimney.

  6. Hi All,

Sorry if this is an obvious question but can any locomotive class/type be coupled to any other?

I think I know that to actually work in multiple there are certain restrictions but when it comes to, for example, hauling a dead loco or similar does it matter? I have seen some photos of unusual combinations when preserved locos are being moved ready for open days etc.

The reason for asking is that I'd like to be as accurate as possible when running model trains and wouldn't want to couple up something that in real life just wouldn't be possible!

Thanks to anyone who is able to shed any light!

Restrictions as to what might be coupled together were also governed by weight restrictions.

IIRC the "Crumlin" viaduct was one engine only ! I am sure there were others.
