  2. Just found out his 2nd batch of RTV mould material has come without the coloured catalyst indicator, which means ensuring the 2 part RTV is mixed correctly is really down to guess work and some prayers!!Not happy

Similar, just a 2 part mix version used to make moulds for replicating items. Although I have used RTV 101 which is a high heat sealant to do the same job...bit expensive though!!!

      Hi Jon,

Just a thought but have you tried fibre optic cable (avail from ebay amongst others in a variety of sizes) You can get the sheathed variety which I had success with on a 47 project. The sheath can be cut back to expose the fibre optic which can then be cut and shaped to protrude through the body at the right diameter. It also allows you then to create a light-box where there is more room.

      Just a thought

      Hope it Helps

If you go for it then I would put and order in for some wheels as "ultrascale" delivery time is 16 weeks (others on the market but these come with gears etc..drop in wheels). Time enough to practice!!!

Re-wheeling....whats on your list? For the average modeller with some hand skills its easy. Ran a re-wheeling workshop at scaleforum this year ..1st time ever.

In simple terms relating to diesels... couldn't be easier than taking the shell off, taking the keeper plates off the bogies, removing the wheels, bending the pickups out a bit. Refit the new set, lube and replace the keeper plates. You don't need a set of wheels to try.....just remove a set from your deltic and then refit...

I echo Captain Kernows' advice. As a newbie to P4 i found track building easy and rewarding and the results speak for themselves. Why not hunt out your local P4 group and give them a call, pop along to a club meeting and have a chat. That was the route i took and I haven't looked back.

Cull of personal Galleries to take place. I agree with moderators that many belong in topics which is what i shall do. Like many I thought this was an area to show your general photos to aid others in detailing their models.
