    Almost Arley

Just discovered this thread; lovely work and looking forward to seeing it progress.
  2. Easy to weather, easy to cut and paint as required. Two layers of it bring it up to track height.m and one layer fills in the infill nicely.
  3. They look good Jack. Regarding the hardstanding, Fab Foam from Hobbycraft works well and is cheap!
  4. They seem to have gone a little out of style at the moment but would a box file or IKEA Knagglig box layout be an option? Perhaps the insides of a shed would give something to display your locos on?
  5. Great to see. I still struggle to believe that it is all enclosed on an Ikea Lack, similarly with Juniper Hill, it looks so much bigger - I don't know how you do it!
  6. Lovely work Mark, the Hunslet fits in wonderfully. Hope the show went well.
  7. I’m planning on amending my Britomart into Maid Marian.
  8. Hard to believe it’s the same base layout Luke. Great work and the industrial buildings look the perfect shade of blue. Well done!
  9. Is that the scenic area or including fiddle yards? Very interesting, I’ve got a spare one of them sat in the loft doing very little… Thanks, looking forward to seeing more!
  10. Lovely work, Mark. Not sure how I’d missed this. What are the dimensions?
  11. I know that feeling Tom. I’m a serial planning, kit-building, layout-avoiding kind of a modeller! That photo is incredible, by the way.
  12. That station building, Jack… lovely!
  13. Hi Luke, great to see tCronton will be back on the road! must be nearly time for a new layout?
  14. Crikey Jack. That’s a piece of engineering! Looks incredible!
  15. Merry Christmas Tom. The Chris Ford book is very enjoyable. Great choice on the Snailbeach book too.
  16. Jeez Jack, that’s a big one!! In fact, that’s got to be bigger than most layouts I build!!!
  17. Gutted, I was hoping for the first quarter. Best get on with my Five79 kit then…
  18. Sad news, gave me lots of advice as a young modeller and always gave a warm welcome to his shop. Rest in peace.
  19. Looking really good, Jack. The temporary office looks particularly super (a good paint job). Well done!
  20. Another superb photo, Tom. quick question, if I may. What make are the bolster wagons please? Thank you.
  21. I just love this, I still find it hard to believe you think you could over saturate us with images! Its inspired me To think (purely think, I have neither the skill of the knowledge of scales etc) about something similar with Rex, Mike and Bert and their line and what mileage there would be in that. Keep posting.
