  1. The RMB wouldn't be allowed to have any passengers on it at all. Some have suggested that the doors could be locked shut. But going by the rule book passengers would not be allowed to travel in that coach.
  2. Given WCR attitude to CDL and the twisting of the truth in thier press releases. Can we be certain that their trains are maintained to the correct standards? Can they be trusted at all?
  3. One thing I have noticed with the new trains is how quiet they are internally. With the old trains its impossible to hold a conversation while the train is on the move. On the new trains it was perfectly possible to talk to my wife. I was very impressed with them.
  4. Just a small note the Scotrail woosh was introduced before privatisation. And was kept by National Express when it took over.
  5. Newcastle, Glasgow Central, Waterloo.
  6. Walked past game today noticed they sell scaletrix not sure if that's a new thing or not
  7. To say its outwith thier control is an outright lie. It was within their control to fit CDL they just chose not to.
  8. Hard to tell from the photo but looks like the coal is squint. That may be a good thing if it means it is removable.
  9. Rails do not own the tooling. The tooling has passed to another company. Any further batches will be made by that company. An announcement will be made later this year. I got this information this weekend. There was much nudge nudge wink wink can't possibly confirm etc.
  10. All the above are youngsters. I give you the Glasgow underground engineers wagons. The chassis for them were original subway car chassis dating back to 1896.
  11. After what he did at Newcastle and Rangers I'm not sure this is good news.
  12. The 321s have one small window and one big window behind one driving cab the 320s have 2 large windows
  13. Fantastic news. I have been wanting someone to do one for a very long time. Long lifespan lots of liveries and large geographical area. These will sell like hot cakes. Which 320 livery to go for maybe all 3. The estimated price seems very reasonable. Of the three types of EMU I currently drive these are my favourite.
  14. There was also ask elvis. Where listeners could ask elvis ( obviously not the real elvis) questions. Two I remember were. Elvis can you explain nuclear fusion? Followed by elvis giving a long detailed explanation. And elvis where did I leave my car keys? "Uh huh on top of the fridge" was the reply to that one.
  15. If I was in the car in the afternoon I listened to Steve's show. If I was model making in the afternoon I listened to Steve's show. Many models were made while listening to him. It was a sad day when his afternoon show finished. I've not listened to radio 2 since his last afternoon show. I was shocked to hear of his passing. Really sad news
  16. Glasgow museums have one but no longer on display https://preservedbritishsteamlocomotives.com/andrew-barclay-works-no-1571-irvine-no-1-0-6-0f/
  17. I remember seeing one in the Glasgow museum of transport. It's no longer on public display sadly. Would love you to do a model of it. https://preservedbritishsteamlocomotives.com/andrew-barclay-works-no-1571-irvine-no-1-0-6-0f/
  18. Don't see the point in this duplication. If we compare the Bachmann and accurascale 37s both are great models. I think the Accurascale one is slightly better. But in terms of price Accurascale win hands down. We will need to wait and see which of the two models is best however I suspect accurascale will win again on price. Instead of wasting money creating duplicate models why not spend the money on something that hasn't been done already or improving on an existing model. A brand new class 08 for example or a 25KV emu
  19. I didn't pre order one. They look great in the photos though. I'm getting tempted......
  20. Excellent news. Accurascale leading the way yet again. Gaugemaster do a lifetime guarantee on their controllers and I contacted them about a controller I had bought 20 years previously. Told me to send it back they repaired it and sent it back quickly. Brilliant service. Therefore it's great that you are offering this. Let's be honest locomotives are not cheap and this gives peace of mind for the future.
  21. I have yet to buy anything from KR models. As they have not made anything I wanted yet. But having read about the way they have treated their customers it would make me think twice before buying anything from them. The comment from them above shows a disgusting attitude to their customers. Rather than respond to the complaints above with an apology, and a promise to sort the problems they responed with a snide comment. They can't even be bothered to give their phone number to someone.
  22. I also don't understand the Beatles wagons and locos. I'm a huge Beatles fan and a railway modeller. And I wouldn't touch them with a barge poll. My wife spotted them in a shop and was going to buy some for my Christmas. I had to stop her. But someone must be buying them otherwise they wouldn't be adding them to the range.
  23. A few years ago I was down in Liverpool and went to Hattons. While in the shop I asked when the Heljan class 28s were due. They told me they were expecting a delivery within the next hour and a half. They offered to take my number and call me when the shipment arrived. I went off for a wander around the Beatles sights at Penny Lane and a cup of tea. About an hour later I got a phone call from Hattons. 10 minutes later I was in the shop with the class 28 in my hands straight out of the big delivery box. I must have been the first customer in the UK to get my hands on one. The staff offered to give the loco a test run on their test track. I said it before the staff were great whether in the shop or on the phone. I hope they find new employment soon.
  24. In the quirky poll thread I said that Locomotion was a no brainer. I was right, for once.
