  1. You can always edit the post & remove the surplus! Dave
  2. Did you download the latest instructions from the Ragstone website? They appear to have a pretty good explanation of how the brake gear goes together. http://www.ragstonemodels.co.uk/uploads/4/8/6/4/48647195/ck20_-_lbsc_bullion.pdf Dave
  3. Geoff posts to Western Thunder these days. To quote him: "I'm only over here these days, t'other place got too big and the loss of some of my content due to the meltdown was the last straw." Dave
  4. Ken I hope that it's just your photos but the boiler looks all wrong to my ageing eyes. The bottom of the boiler should be parallel with the footplate and level with the top of the splashers. The boiler is coned from the back of the smokebox to the front of the firebox. Dave
  5. Not the clearest image of an H6 but you get the idea. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The Dapol ones are close enough. Dave
  6. It's a shame they're so small. The OP wants 7mm irons! Dave
  7. It does appear that the far end lowered aluminium strip rests on the rails. If you have short, I suggest starting here with the diagnosis! Cheers Dave
  8. And your building and painting advice and explanations were invaluable so thank you again from me. (and thanks for the hut - it has a new home earmarked.) Dave
  9. Roger Scanlon built one of these. Richard Lambert (Dikitriki) posted a photo of it on his Heyside thread on Western Thunder. Roger posts on WT. https://www.westernthunder.co.uk/threads/heyside-7mm-l-y-late-50s-early-60s.552/post-79719 Dave
  10. How deep are your pockets? https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke-sbr610-3-in-1-sheet-metal-machine-610m/ Dave
  11. You obviously don't like making staircases! Dave
  12. Start from here and stay away from the Home page! http://www.peterclarkkits.com/products.html Dave
  13. Will that be a set of badgers or a badgers' sett? Dave
  14. I needed some bells for some Swansea Harbour Trust (SHT) locos and got them from Andy Beaton (Ragstone Models). They are the ones supplied with the Agenoria kits of SHT Pecketts etc.. I can't find them on his parts list but he will supply them. Dave
  15. Better still, look here https://www.sanddmodels.co.uk/products_43_lamps.htm Dave
  16. 1369 was shedded at Weymouth in 1947 so it's not surprising that it had Great Western on the tanks! Dave
  17. Hi Mike I bought some of these in a variety of sizes - they fit one of the collets on my Proxxon bench drill and also run true which is a possible problem with using the drill-in-tube method. Dave
  18. To suggest that there's nothing interesting going on just because the autopilot is engaged displays a complete lack of knowledge and understanding of the job. At 600mph, things are changing constantly and rapidly. Dave (48 years an airline pilot, instructor and examiner)
  19. I can't help feeling that the chimney ought to be much taller than the adjacent building - else the upper floors of the building will be swamped in smoke! Dave
  20. Managed to find the number 4552 buried in the text above. From photographs, the position of the tank vent on this class seems to correlate well with the type of safety valve cover. Locos with the ‘older’, taller and slimmer cover (like your model) have the vent in the forward position. 4552 in BR days had the later, squatter cover and the aft vent position. Dave
  21. Hi Simon I thought that was the link I posted! Dave
