  2. Britain was completely unpopulated until about 10,000 years ago, so the people who walked were the Mesolithic strand lopers, who were supplanted largely by the people bringing agriculture - and they came in boats as the Channel had by that time reformed.

  11. Leicester is rated the native curry capital, not over influenced by 'interpretations'. However the best curry place I know is the Taj Mahal in Penzance. None of these are 'posh', just serving superb food. Other nationalities specialities I don't really know about, but they certainly exist outside Maggie's Girdle (the M25). When I used to travel for work I used a lot of different eateries, and really didn't have a bad experience. However, I'm not hyper critical. Nowadays it's just me, so I'm not out much, preferring my own company.

  17. Quorn, in common with other fake meats, is incontestably ultra-processed. Evidently, this is not an issue for the animal welfare, vegetarian and vegan groups that hail such confections as a potential end to animal slaughter and the misery of factory farming Source https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/feb/12/quorn-revolution-rise-ultra-processed-fake-meat#:~:text=Quorn%2C in common with other, the misery of factory farming.

  20. Sandy took her mother and her aunt on holiday many times, and once did Millook south to north in a little Suzuki three cylinder jobbie. She said her mum was having kittens all the way up. Her aunt (who will be 94 on Thursday) loved it. (Memo to self - get a birthday card and pressie.) (that Suzuki was a great little car.)
