  1. The spellings of place names probably tend to have changed more in the Celtic regions of the country as they were originally in the local Celtic language. When this ceases to be in everyday use, being replaced by English, the meaning of the names gets forgotten and they change/become corrupted over time. Trenowth is a good example of such a name in Cornwall, it would have originally been Trenoweth. Tre means a settlement such as a farmstead or village so Trenoweth is "New Village". Oll an gwella (All the best) John
  2. I used it on some three rail 0 gauge models and it dramatically improved their performance. It was very easy to apply as well.
  3. That would be wonderful, I used to really enjoy that series.
  4. Watching developments with great interest Rick.

    St Columb

As I live in St Columb I shall be following this with interest.
  6. It is indeed a fascinating book, one of these days l'll get round to building a representation of the electric loco (although probably in 0 gauge rather than 2 inch).
  7. The more I see of this layout the more I like it, it is superb.
  8. Do you have any more information on this as the surface mount components are the only thing that is putting me off this project. I am happy with through hole soldering having built a number of audio projects but have never worked with SMD components.
  9. Wow! that is such a great set, and I agree about it being pre WW1.
  10. Indeed! a super little layout and fantastic inspiration. I can see me having a go at something like this.
